LAST weekend, Sungei Wang Plaza kicked of its 30th anniversary celebrations with a star-studded concert at the open car park of the shopping mall. 

The event attracted more than 10,000 people who turned up as early as 6pm despite the heavy downpour. 

According to Sungei Wang Plaza promotions and public relations manager KK Lim, the concert was specially organised to reward shoppers and patrons in appreciation of their support throughout the years. 

“It is the first time that the shopping centre is organising such a grand concert,” said Lim.

988fm deejays May, Luke and KK hosted the three-hour concert with games and gave away goodie bags to the audience. 

The concert featured local Chinese artistes like Lin Yu Zhong, Daniel Lee, Johnson Wee, Buddy, Stella Chung, W.H.Y and Chan Kwok Fai. 

Besides that, international singers such as Taiwanese boy band 2moro, Singaporean singer Huang Yi Da and Hins Cheung from China also made appearances during the concert that ended at 11pm. 

More exciting activities is set to take place soon to celebrate the anniversary of one of the oldest shopping malls in the city.
