Thanks for the heads up!! :)

  2. sharkgila says:

This is one sale I want to go to. I’ve used the above image in my blog – do you have image ownership that does not allow this? Let me know, and I’ll remove the image. Thanks.

  7. mamamia says:

Princess, how 2 print d invitation 4 d preview? Can I use newspaper ad?

  8. princess says:

    dear mamamia,

i supposed you can use the newspaper ad OR u you can follow SNS instruction as above.

  9. Kaynines says:

The preview is only for invited guests (ie members of the publishing industry and those given personal invitations by Pearson & Penguin) and not open to public. I called Pearson/ Penguin to enquire and, I think, there is a list of invited guests. The warehouse sale is open to public from 16th November onwards.

  10. sns says:

    Dear Kaynines

Tks for clearing up the point on the PREVIEW Sale, we were not aware of it!

    :) SNS

  11. melwin says:

can u pls send me the flyer cause i need the map..
the map attached is to small
    pls send to melwin33@yahoo.com

  12. Amy Wong says:

    Dear All

I’ve called Pearson M’sia and they said that the public can print out the invitation. For more info, you can contact Pearson at 03-77820466. Happy buying…

  13. luna says:

Ah, thanks for the info guys! So we just have to print the flyer in order to go to the preview sale? I guess we can’t print this flyer because it has the “shoppingNsales.com” on it.

Would the digi message count? The one that says we get to buy at 10% off if we flash the message on the preview day itself. But it does not really sound like an invitation though…

  14. Jannie says:

    Dear SNS Team,

I have a blog too, so can we paste in your sales in our blog for our friends to view? Not all of them, for example this one and some of those which I think my friends would be interested in. I didn’t find an anser to Sharkgila’s question though.

    THanks. :D

  15. sns says:

    Dear Jannie
Sure no probs.. just put a link back to us, that’s all we ask.
    Tks for asking in advance.

    Dear Sharkgila
So sorry, we must have been blurred!! Didnt realize your question attention to us! Yes please go ahead and as we told Jannie just link back to us. No probs about using the image.

  35. princess says:

just got back from the sale. managed to buy so many children books for my son. so happy!! this sale is really WORTH going. DK hardcover children books are selling at RM4. they hv lotsa books for grab!!!!!
the crowd is still ok at 11am+. can pay by credit card for purchases above RM50 (only accept master n visa)

oya..additional 10% discount just for today (even if u r not a digi member)

    happy shopping! :)

  36. UlatBuku says:

I went for the Preview this morning around 10am. By 11 am, the crowd started moving in. Definitely worth the time. Price range: Novels RM12(paperback), RM22 (Hardcover); Idiots’s series RM22, Other books beween RM4-29. Very good & varied choice. They hv fiction, non-fiction, school revision, children’s books, classic, travel guides, cooking, hobby books. Prices about 4x less than normal. I spent about RM200 for 15 books!
They were selling bookclub membership (RM20). If you get it, you get additional 10% discount on purchases + discount when you buy selected books at University bookstore.
The only downer was that books were arranged in no order, so you hv to browse at every rack & book to get what you are looking for (which is time consuming).

  37. athena says:

thanks sns for the invitation. i went there this morning and had a great time browsing and buying books for my kids. might go back tomorrow to buy some books for myself. p.s. only problem was that the books were not categorized by subject or author but as a whole it was a pleasure going there.

  38. cath says:

The sale was GREAT!! So many books to chose and they are at real low price. The novel paperback is as low as RM10.00 and there were lots of choice. I love it.
Children ladybird books is also at good price – RM6.50
They even have book package for christmas present.

The crowd is ok today , I guess tomorrow will be real crowded. And yes the extra 10% discount for today only (esp for digi customer).

  39. SOOK FERN says:

can u all email me the invitation so late I can go 2say afterwork. yeosookfern@yahoo.com.

    Thank you

  40. sns says:

    Dear Princess, UlatBuku, Athena, Cath
Tks for sharing with us how it went!! We’re glad that the sale is good and the discounts are trully cheap!! :) WOO HOO!!! We will also pop by too!

Pity about the disorderly arrangement …. :)

    Dear Sook Fern
We just mailed the Flyer to you. Hope u get to go after work! :)

  41. sabrina says:

Sale was really reaaly good! Really great titles. Oh and you don’t need the invite to get in :p

  42. melwin says:

just to confirm if i am going on Saturdays. do i need the flyer? if yes can u email to melwinkaur@gmail.com

the next question may sound weird…i really want to go but dont hv transport..can someone tell me how can i reach the place using public transport ( bus/LRT)
    thank you

  43. Jannie says:

I manage to visit the Pearsons & Penguin Warehouse Sale this morning and got a whole lot of books for my daughter and myself. It’s really cheap…apparently only happens once every 5 years (so I was told by one of the cashiers). Got a few Ladybird books for only RM1.50 and other kiddy books. Some other Ladybird ones at at RM6.50. Story books (paperbacks) were about RM10 – RM15 only, new but dusty only lah. You guys should go visit there again, I wished I had more time.

Yeah, the books are very disorganised and my eyes were so tired searching for books and I gave up after a while. There were some James Patterson books and Tom Clansy books, Anita Shreve..etc Not a full range.

They just asked where we were from and did not even check our IDs (as my company has a special invite for preview for staff).

  44. bluemars says:

halo, i’m interest in the sales, can anyone send me the invitation?
is it must have invitation then only can go?

  45. Jannie says:

There is a number to call somewhere above in the comments. You can check with them to be sure.

Today, I didn’t even bring the invitation or even show our ID like I mentioned (coz today is a preview day)

  46. Bridget says:

I went this morning too and managed to get many nice books. Agree with everyone about the dust, disorganised books, etc. But the books are quite worth buying. As for the ladybird books, I remember them being sold at RM6.00 during last year’s Pearson and Penguin warehouse sale. So it is not true that they have it every 5 years:) I wish they had more non-fiction books though. There was lots of fiction, cook-books and dictionaries, but non-fiction was limited.

  47. Jannie says:

Urgh!!! They had it last year!!! Liar Liar Pants on Fire!!! I don’t mean you Bridget, but that cashier that told me that!! Hmmph!!!

Cool, I shall look forward to more good deals next year. :D

  48. joshua says:

sounds like a good warehouse sale based on the comments.
juz wondering if there is public transport to go there?
how far is it from Assunta?

  49. raymond says:

Great sale. Agree with everyone on the DK and children book bargains, dusty(but not all the books) and the disorganized layout for the books, especially paperbacks. Overall, it was a good sale and there were a lot of worthwhile bargains to pick up. Didn’t need the flyer to get in at 1pm.

Thanx for sending the flyer anyway, sns.
    Great site, great service.

  50. Rae says:

    dear Melwin & joshua,

there are buses that stop outside at the main road, but you will have to walk in for quite a distance. As there have been many snatch thieves around here, i suggest you take the LRT and then get a taxi there. The only problem with this is that it would be a little difficult to get another taxi back. The best would be to persuade a friend who has a car to go with you. :)

  51. Andrea says:

Right! I can’t believe this is happening!! I had no idea of a preview, and thought I’d be ok if I went there tomorrow. Now looking at the comments posted, I guess all that will be waiting for me would be scraps and leftovers!! I should have taken a day off work for this…

  52. mamamia says:

Hi, can anybody let me know whether there is any parking problem if I drive there. If yes, any alternative? Will appreciate any advise.

  53. princess says:

    dear mamamia,

if you plan to drive, i advise you to go as early as possible esp on weekends to get a nice parking so you dont have to walk too far.
all cars have to park along the road side (outside Pearson office).
OR you can check out Rae’s comment above on the alternative.

  54. ML says:

WOW, this sale is really worth going. Was there for only 30 minutes and bought RM95 worth of books. Yes, books are disorganized but all children books are in one section making them easier to find. Lots of Disney books at RM4 to RM10.

Parking = so – so. But I was blocked by some idiot who double parked and didn’t have the presence of mind to leave his/her hp number! Thankfully, my hubby and his good driving skills or I would have to wait for who knows how long!

  55. el says:

    Hi Andrea

I just got back from the sale (lunch break) & there were still loads n n loads of books so don’t worry. Just be prepared to spend lotsa time browsing ‘cos as everyone says the books esp the novels are in no order whatsoever. Some pretty good bargains lying around – some books that r still in the bookshops @ full price r selling at RM10…m sooooo broke. I saw people buying cartons of books! Kids books r generally on the right of the entrance, DK travel guides, Idiots books, hardcovers on the left, and novels of all sorts everywhere else. Lots of cashier’s counters though n fans too so it wasn’t too bad! Good sale.

  56. razlen says:

WOW…this sales is a Must to all books fans………..the books are super cheap esp. the children’s books…got myself 47 books for only RM 402.00…..he,he, definitely going again 2moro

  57. mamamia says:

Thanks Princess 4 ur reply. Yep, hv 2 park along the road, opposite and around the building.

I was there from 2pm until 6.30pm. Bought 60 books for RM660. Like d rest said, it is real cheap but be prepared 4 the heat and dust.

The Disney sticker books are only RM3, Harry Porter book 1 to 6 fr RM 24-RM26 each. Lots n lots of novels @ RM10. I bought 10 Nora Roberts’ book. DK travel books at RM9-RM40. They also hv Rough Guide n Time Out travel books but i love DK.

Oh, b4 I forgot, pls bring along some drinking water. U sure feel thirsty. Thirsty 4 water n d books, hehehe. The did sell mineral water and can
drinks at RM1 an RM1.50 respectively.

  58. aw wai fan says:

  60. atie says:

hahaha even though I work at the same area but I have not went to this sales!!!…
    bukan apa… budget tarak

  61. Yei says:

The sales that Penguin had was really 5 years ago. Pearson had a sale last year but not Penguin. This time its a combine for Pearson & Penguin. I got this info from the guy selling the drinks. He is one of the staff of Penguin.

  62. atie says:
