IT WAS 1.30pm. I’ve just had lunch and had about half an hour to kill before resuming work. So I walked across the street and went into a shop. 

“Just browsing,” I assured myself. But I heard a little voice telling me: “Maybe there is something worthwhile buying. There is a promotion going on here.” 

With the nationwide sales being held regularly, it’s hard to resist going to malls at every opportunity.

I browsed from section to section, looking at the shoes, belts, bags, shirts, pants and ties on display. Prices were right but nothing really caught my fancy.

AirAsia affiliated Tune Ventures Sdn Bhd is establishing a major presence in Borneo’s shopping centre by opening its first department store and a 166-room hotel at the 1Borneo mega mall. Tune Ventures’ flagship retail outlet to be called Tune Store will occupy a 9,300sq m area in the massive mall which is scheduled to open by April 2008. 

“We are targeting the middle income earners with our extensive selection of merchandise for discerning shoppers,” Tune Store director Dennis Melka said after the signing of an agreement between Tune Ventures and Sagajuta Sdn Bhd, 1Borneo’s developer for the establishment of the retail outlet.
