   Has anyone been to this same clearance sale last year? Any feedback? Just wondering whether I should brave the horrendous traffic to get down to KL from PJ

   I went there last year..really interesting..but you’ve to go early because by lunch time the crowd is really really bad..and long q at the cashier..furthermore you’ll missed all the good stuff as I think no stock added..
   The toys and the price is reasonable..can save more compared to normal sale at the outlet..
   Better to go there by LRT..really convenience..

   i went there to check out the item y’day and found out that item I used to see (LEAPFROG ALPHABET FRIDGE MAGNET) price at RM99 is now marked up to RM119.00 but they put discount 20%. After that I became very suspicious on other items, becoz all the tag look new.

   when going for this type of clearance sale, you actually NEED to know the REAL NORMAL PRICE. Then only you will know whether it is REALLY 70% discount. If you know that the normal price for LEGO pink box is RM119 and if they give 70% discount, the price should be RM35.70. If it’s still in the range of RM80 - RM100, it’s not 70% discount now, right? so you can make a conclusion that they are BIG FAT LIARS. Now, if what nosa says is true, then, what can we make from that? I went for the clearance last year, after work at around 6pm, not much left, but i can tell you this, those old stocks, yup! you can believe that it really needs to be cleared away at 70% discount because there will be pieces missing here and there. but the others, ranges between 10% to 50%. depending on the condition of the toys. don’t expect the NEW toys will have 70%. or even 30%. the most i would say, they will give 20%. especially that LIVE DOLL. so, make a wise decision, and when in doubt, better not buy. happy shopping everyone! i won’t be going.

    Hey all… I just came back from the sale. Was looking for Lego sets. Only selected sets on 50% off. None at 70%. About half the other brands are at 50%. Very few at 70%. And yes. Vivisidik is right. You need to know what the actual retail non-sale price is to know whether you’re in for a bargain or not. But the reason why there are nothing much left was because a lot of people are already there and gobbled up a lot of stuffs already. I was there at 10.30 and there was already a BIG crowd! And picture each of them having a big bag of purchases! Well, if any of you want to go, better go soon…

    i went there this morning..n able to grab some gud items..all at 70% off..
    so i spend around 250 for 8 items..
    n i think vivisidik is right..
    u hv to know the actual price first..

    n remember to check the receipt..
    sometimes d cashier will punch twice on d same item..
    pls be careful..

    I don’t think I saw any baby alive dolls. But even if there was, if it’s a hot item, it’d be all been purchased and off the shelves already by now.

    I had bought few 70% & 50% baby items at the clearance sale. But later i found out actually the prices had been marked up. I bought The First Year Hands Free Safety Gate RM399.95 (before 50%), VTECH Sunny Face Smart Gym RM199.95 (before 70%). I saw the actual retail price from some of the store like BBstore at Kuchai Lama & online store like Little Whirz.com are selling the safety gate only for RM249.90 & the smart gym at RM139.90 (BBstore are giving this item on sale at 70% too), I feel that the clearance sale is not genuine & being cheated! I will not buy any items from Toys R Us in future.

    After reading the comments here, I told my hubby of how this store marks up the prices just before discount and my hubby took advantage of the situation by fanning the fire by saying things like how he hated ppl who do business like this and then capping it with “no need to go lah!” He never really liked to go to KL in the first place.

    I agreed with Yvonne. I was so frastrated after bought “The First Year” baby safety gate when i saw Parkson is selling it at RM249.90 only. That means I only get around 20% discount instead of 70% because Toy’s R Us marked up the price !!! So angry!!!

    i agree with everyone. that the prices are higher as compared to other places. BUT, i do think… if u already survey at other places (and know the price of item u r searching for), it can be a good bargain for u. to me, LUCK is important… bcoz i they are taking stocks from other outlets & n u’ll never know when they are going on d shelves. but dont expect too much, all d HOT item is no more (if got, only at 10-20% discount)…
