hi! i’m as confuse as dyaso is too. wat do u mean from rm8 – rm888? i’m afraid that it’ll turn out like those typical sales n whatnot that will always say from rm8-rm888 but in this case the camera might cost rm888. n rm8 will probably be the casing or something like that.
or….does it mean the early birds there will get the camera for only rm8 n the price goes higher towards the end of the day? if so..i won’t mind queuing up early. but if not…i don’t see the point of queuing at all.

ya… cheryl…. i have the same thought as u….. some sales reli like tat one…. i’m oso very curios bout it…. but if the camera do cost rm888, then tat no point for the booth open at 6am….. hope someone can clear this up soon… hehe…
i’m hoping that somebody or anybody will have a response to what i’ve said because the event is going to be held in a couple more days…thanx to whoever who can clear this up. =)
beng: sometimes it might be a gimmick to try to pull outsiders to attend the event. n maybe just to draw customers there n then hold some weird games just to entitle them for a CHANCE to get the camera at a low price.
like the PS3 event, it’s real! but u’ll just have to queue up really early! the ps3 launch they gave away 3 RM1000 sony cash voucher to the first 3 buyers..n the first queued up for 2 days!! so depends on ur luck!
the price starts at RM8…means u can get the camera at RM8..and it goes up to RM888..meaning if u go late..it’ll still be abour RM400 cheaper than the retail price…i’m not sure about the quota they have though..the PS 3 was sold out even before it started selling (they only had quota for 130 buys)

I heard total about 400-500 units. They will go seomthing like 1-10 ar Rm8 then subsequent for the rest is increase like RM188, RM388 then RM488

The queue is now 160 people long already. I saw this this report in everyday.com.my. After take bath I will rush there. I think 300 ppl below still can get a great deal. I am so excited.

RM188 : 21 – 30 units
RM388 : 31 – 50 units
RM488 : 51 -70 units
RM588 : 71 – 110 units
RM688 : 111 – 150 units
RM788 : 151 – 230 units
RM888 : 231 – 350 units
IMHO,I would be willing to go only as far as RM588. If more than that, I’d rather get a Canon IXUS because the price is closer to a CANON camera which is a more quality camera than SONY which is more known for it’s features rather than quality pictures.

Huh? RM888 for a camera w/o casing and w/o memory card? This camera is selling at RM1,299 in a Sony Centre with casing and a 2GB memory card. With RM888, you still need to fork out >RM100 for memory card (depending on memory size) and another >RM100 for casing plus a few ringgit for the screen protector sticker!
fair deal is right..the camera is too expensive….might as well buy original…got freebies..

they are all right.. it is sold in lelong at 1199 with screen protector and 8gb memory (sony pro duo) and with tripod..

I just talked to a friend whose friend owns one of the Sony Centres in town. Their retail price of RM1299 for the T77 does not include any bundles (memory card, screen protector, casing). Apparently their profit margin is so small for the T77 that they can’t afford to throw in any freebies.

Well… 2 Roman 1 Impostor insisted that there are no freebies with the purchase, even from Sony Centre. I’m not sure whether his/her friend knows that SONY CENTRE IS giving away freebies with purchase. Besides 1U, The Curve Sony Centre is also giving away casing + memory card with the T77.
Anyway, I think 2 Roman 1 Impostor thinks that the deal he/she gave is very good… You guys can buy from him/her is you want to… I won’t want to ruin his/her from getting more money out of this.
Fair Deal and Tubbies and shopaddict are all right…I have oso seen Sony centre shops or even non Sony centre shops..just ordinary camera shops such as FotoKem all bundling the camera with a free casing and 2gb of memory card at the original price of RM1299. A few Sony centres dun do that though..such as the one in Berjaya Times Square.
