This warehouse sales is different from the previous held for the past 2-3 years as those were held by MPH Bookstore. This is by MPH Distributors. The last time they had one was about 4 yrs ago and it was MASSIVE. By far bigger than the warehouse sales in August08.
Book lovers, do not miss this one.
October 9th, 2008 at 8:36 am

Appreciate the help
October 9th, 2008 at 9:39 am
I might not be able to make it; I’m gonna be out of town that weekend.
Oh well.. see how it goes, lah.
October 9th, 2008 at 10:28 am
Hi Jean, if not mistaken, it is somewhere behind Jaya 33. After you passed Jaya 33 on your right, turn right at the next junction. It should be somewhere there.
October 9th, 2008 at 10:35 am
to jean, just take the putra LRT and get off at the Asia Jaya station. then just take a cab giving them the address, they shud know already.
October 9th, 2008 at 10:40 am

October 9th, 2008 at 11:25 am

October 9th, 2008 at 11:31 am
hi everyone
MPH Distributors office is on the same road as F&N dairies / Shiseido / BluInc / Glad Tidings church. the other way is when you see Colgate Palmolive on your left, turn left & go straight. Our warehouse is on the right hand side. for any enquiries, kindly contact 03 7958 1688.
fantastic bargains not to be missed!!!
see you there!

Those who went for the last sale……Any idea if they have Danielle Steel books? is it also discounted?
October 9th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
who know how many %% discount? it’s really cheap? i want to buy some books for my children
October 9th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
This is a MPH Distributors warehouse sales… not MPH Bookstores.
October 9th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
I want to buy flash card for my kids. any there?
October 9th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Actually what is the difference btw MPH Distributors & MPH Bookstores ? Maybe someone can explain to me. I called them up & was told that not all books selling in MPH Bookstores will be available for MPH Distributors .
October 9th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
AA, I think there’s not really any “discount”. Still it should be cheaper than you’ll find during normal ’sales’. Everything are sold well below the RRP but i think the best thing about this WHouse sales is the variety of books you’ll find here. It’s really MASSIVE. The last time it was held, i spent about RM2K there. :’( gonna be big hole in my wallet again this time.
RAV, there should most definitely be Danielle Steel - she’s everywhere whenever there’s a book sales. But my advise is to look out for “PAY LESS BOOKS” sales. It’s cheaper as it’s secondhand (some condition are still quite good), on top of that during sales they have up to 50% discounts.
October 9th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Mel, what you mean not really discount? That means not even minimum 50% discount? Then minimum discount % that can be expected of this warehouse?
October 9th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Hye…
does anybody know whether they will sell Sophie Kinsella & Cecilia Ahern books?
i am looking foe those book only…
hope i can get it at a cheaper price…
thnx…
October 9th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Anybody who wanna to let go sophie kinsella or cecilia ahern books?
i’ll be appy to buy it from you…
thnx again…
October 9th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
OK… I’m telling from whatever i can remember from 3-4 yrs ago (which was the last time MPH distributer had a WH sales) … they just have price tags on them books. Meaning a book you see selling for RM100 normally, they might be selling for RM30-RM70.
There’s no straightforward discounts (maybe there will be this time, i don’t know), it’s more like “best buys”. But i can say that the books that i bought were way cheaper than when they are on sale at MPH bookstore or any other bookstore. Probably some books would be the same price you get from other WH sales.
October 9th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
rina,
sophie kinsella will be around rm25-28. Ibought it early this yr at the same wrhs. I also looking for this writer’ novel this time. hope still at the lower price. jommmm grab it!:)
October 9th, 2008 at 4:50 pm

thnx for the info!

yup…lets grab the book!!!
October 9th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
it’s reli reli cheap! i went for the warehouse sale by MPH distributor on 2006. Memoirs of Geisha just released that time and they were selling at RM20 only if I’m not mistaken. Definitely not to be missed! oh yeah….u can also wait for certain hour of the day where they’ll announced something like ” it’s the ‘bla bla bla’ hour!any ‘bla bla bla’ book is selling at rm10 in this hour!” yeah…something like this as I remember…
October 9th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
am so happy they are having this sale again. the last one was year 2006 yet. there were lots of children’s books and bestseller books. the place was really big and it was fun going around the place and browsing over the books on sale. definitely cheaper than bookstore rates.
October 10th, 2008 at 11:54 am

October 15th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
Hi Rina,
I only have 1 book by Sophie Kinsella…which is “Shopaholic and Baby”.
I bought the book at rm30+. The book is like brand new.
I can be contacted at bubb13s@hotmail.com if anyone is interested to buy 2nd hand book.
October 15th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Can anyone one tell me what type of children book available? I’m more interested on book for kid around 1 to 3 year olds. Thanks.
October 15th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Hi Joanna,
any books by david baldacci, michael crichton and stephen king? i collect most of their books already, but there are some titles still missing from my shelf.
also, what’s the difference between MPH distributors and MPH bookstores? i think a couple of people here have raised this question before, but you might have overlooked it.
thank u.
October 15th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Tkx blackie007 to raise my question again…Really wanted to know. Called them as per tel. no. given above, but was told the bilingual cookery books that I looking for are not available though MPH bookstores have wide range available.
October 15th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
hi joanna. thank you for the info. am sooo looking forward for this sale. been waiting for it. i was able to go to the one you had way back 2006.
October 15th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
You’re welcome, Ko. I’m curious, too.
October 16th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
I was wondering if old classics will be on sale. Stuff like:
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Catch-22 by Heller
Blood Meridaan by Cormac McCarthy
Appointment in Samara by John O’Hara
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Catcher in the Rye by Salinger
The Great Gatsby
Lolita
Slaughterhouse-Five
Crime and Punishment
Hemmingway’s books
etc
October 16th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
I hope that the books listed by Kev would be there at the sale as I’d love to get my hands on them too
To add on, I’d like to buy books by Elizabeth George, Susan Grafton, Clive Cussler and Agatha Christie.
Will definitely head over to the sale
October 17th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
hi blackie007 - MPH Distributors are distributors of books whereas MPH Bookstores is the retailer. we are sister companies under MPH Group. there are many distributors in the same industry, not only us, so we don’t carry all titles you see in the bookstores. hope its clearer now
October 20th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
I have shopaholic series to let go as well in very good condition and very low price.
Kev, there’s a copy of lolita too which is still brand new that I wish to let go at a low price.
cheers!
enjoy the sales peeps!

i m torn between these 2 sales…must divide my budget carefully.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Just went there, yes, its hard to get parking nearby. So we park at Nissan (farrrrr occay), and stroll down to the warehouse.
Stephanie Meyer Twilight Saga are on sale, and the first three saga sold around 20 something, the last series is RM32.
Neil Gaiman’s book - RM20 and bought some Cecilia Ahern’s book for RM20.
Pls bare in mind, its very hot. I went around 11.30am-1pm. Macam nak pengsan. But worth it.
Children books also a lot, but need to be patient and browse the isle.
Happy Shopping!!!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:22 pm
Lonely planet books….how many percent discount? really only 30% discount? Matta sales and Citibank card special also 30% and if so, not worth it la…..
Any ladybird books or any books suitable for a one year old? If yes, what’s the name/price range. Thanks.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:41 pm
Well I only managed to find three of the classics I listed in post 46:
Catcher in the Rye (rm20)
Catch-22 (rm18)
Crime and Punishment (rm8)
Also bought
American Gods
A Spot of Bother
Good Omens
All for rm20.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Hi folks! Just came back from MPH warehouse sales. It is really ware house la. So here are some tips
1. Dress Light it’s HOT!
2. They accept Cash & Credit
3. Go with someone else who can wait in the car.
4. Place is huge so be prepared to spend at least 1 hour in there.
5. HItz FM was there giving away free drinks & freebies
6. Saw some ppl brought their own trolleys SMART!
7. They will replenish stocks
8. PRices might go down along the way too as was shared to us by MPH staff…..but if U go early U have selection lor. Give & take i suppose.
ok la that’s all the rest pls share your experience also la.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Happy Happy, thanks for the info..
i’m going tomorrow morning…
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:45 pm
I agree with everyone…parking is just horrible!!! Had to ’round’ for nearly 1 hour to try and get a spot!
Amd i think the last sale they had in Damansara was much better…books were actually cheaper
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Maybe weekends will be better when the office cars are not there…..but this weekend with the ZARA sales going on…..it’ll be a challenge. So still good to have someone wait in the car.
Sabrina, did they have sale in Damansara recently? missed that one
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:47 pm
is there many sophie kinsella’s & cecelia ahern’s book there?
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:52 pm
oh and the mystery gift for purchases above rm150 was… well… rather underwhelming. I’m not sure if they will be pleased if i listed them out, suffice to say that all my friends and i were pretty stumped to be given objects which really isnt of any use. haha. XD
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:55 pm
yeah i saw some kinsella and ahern books. i dont read them and i dunno who they are but my friend bought one of the books i think.
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
you guys can probably just double-park near UTAR (be sure to leave ur hp number on the dashboard!) though you run the risk of getting a summons. it’s a 2-5 minute walk from there to the place.
October 22nd, 2008 at 8:17 pm
hei, i just came back from the sale, was happy and i think it was worth it, travelling fr cyber…but i was quite shock to find Paradise fr Judith Mcnaught ban in Malaysia, but the books were as low as rm 20, narnia was for rm15. not that crowded so i had time to browse around, yup..parking can be a problem.. and some books that i wanted, was not available. but at the end of the day it was worth it, book lovers from children to the golden age will enjoy it! credit card accepted.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I drove over right after work (at 6 pm) and managed to get two books even though I had less than an hour to look around.
I still find the books expensive for a warehouse sale. Might go back again on Monday if I remember to.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:14 pm
It was really enjoyable warehouse sale that I have been thru , ever since.Kudos to the organizer!!Parking was fine, location is strategic and spacious, weather and condition are soothing, customer service excellent.
Well done…definitely will be there for the next sale!adios…
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:28 pm
oria sang, where did u park?
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:28 pm
There would be more new stuff added to the warehouse sales for sure. Freebies were one of the newer attempts this time and so was Hitz cruisers etc… the books are already going at like dirt cheap, some more than 50% - what to expect of the free items? There are the sun promotion for free books for first 10 customers per day, star coupons, free items for people who buy during the preview and first day… a lot is definitely going on.
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:16 am
I must be really lucky today, got parking immediately when I reach:
A few tips:
- Not all the books are cheap. I bought some books in Big Bookshop (exactly same) for lesser price. But then MPH got wider selection until dono wic to buy coz need to budget.
- A bit messy, all the children books all over the place (I guess they want us to walk entire whse to entice us to buy other books too!) some not priced.
- Using your own mini trolley is better if you intend to buy lots, carrying the basket with books is physically taxing.
- Check your books if buying children bks / jigsaw bks - there may be missing pieces or torn pages.
- MOST IMPORTANT bring a pkt of wet wipes to clean yr hands after shopping coz the books are really dusty. There’s a toilet there but no hand soap!
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:41 am
Hi,
Was at the sale at about 2pm. Had to park further up the road because it was really congested. Only looked at children’s books, here’s a summary of what I can remember:
1) Dr.Seuss softcovers - RM10 each
2) Lotsa good quality Usborne books, Usborne Young Reader series RM7
3) Mr.Men series - RM5
4) Tintin - RM18
5) Barney softcover picture storybooks
6) Enid Blyton hardcover- published by Egmont - RM8
7) Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew series - RM10
Not all the children’s books are stacked up systematically so make sure you have the time to look through the boxes of jumbled up titles. Hope this helps.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:33 am
Hi All
I been there yesterday. Damn good, its cheap. Cecilia Ahern’s n Sophie’s book only RM20. Same goes to Jodi Picoult but some also only RM15. No wonder I can’t find Paradise, it was ban. There are twilight series for who searching for it. But can’t remember how much.
Have a nice browser to who is going there. Bring a lot of money ok?
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:47 am
Hi, I went there yesterday around 6pm. Managed to get some book. A lot of books here compare to Damansara WHS. But the children books at Damansara are much more cheaper…….
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:13 am
Erm…if I park at Jaya 33, would it be very far to walk? No one buying Lonely Planets or any other travel books? Thanks.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:17 am
Loved it!! Was lucky enough to get parking without waiting. Missed the happy hour though. Bought some books from the MPH Damansara WH sale last time.. was dissapointed to see that it was CHEAPER HERE!!! Did anyone see any flashcards?
Got mystery gift meh? I spent about $300 oso didn’t get any.
those who got dun complain la.. free one some more want to complain ka?
Anyone got the free gift from the Sun’s coupon? What was it?
Got to say one thing.. the staffs were very friendly & helpful.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:42 am
What are the times for the happy hour? So where is the best place to park? hehe
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
why paradise banned?? i have 1 but it’s the first version so not so good anymore. thought wanna buy new one. how about perfect?
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:57 pm
hey what books were given out to the first 10 customers with a copy of the Sun?
also, anyone seen any of the below titles there? I might have missed them or they werent on the shelves on the first day…
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Blood Meridaan by Cormac McCarthy
Appointment in Samara by John O’Hara
Animal Farm by George Orwell
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
thanks!
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm
I totally agree that the employees were very friendly and helpful.
I don’t think they have Lolita there. If they seen it i will have gotten it for myself.
Lots of Narnia, and Tolkien. For Narnia fans, i think the 7 in 1 for RM15 is worth buying because they are also selling those in set for RM 50++.
I believe they will still lower the price on the last day.
To walk from Jaya 33 is quite far. Try to park around Dream Centre or Roche then walk there.
Those intend to go on Sunday, keep in mind that Dream Centre will have their church services, and Dataran Hammodal is having Zara sales too. It will be pack like mad.
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Paradise banned? Wonder why… I just saw a bundle last saturday at MPH midvalley…
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Lots of Enid Blyton? What about children’s annuals? Any idea?
October 23rd, 2008 at 3:48 pm
just went mph w/house sale so excited about it and some more just opposite my office… so lucky i manage to my fav books with cheap price..and some children book with cost average rm5-rm10..and the zara sale gonna take a peek tomorrow cause oso near my office too..sgt syiok!!!
October 23rd, 2008 at 3:49 pm
opps sorry loys of enid blyton books oso u have to go at the back of the w/house lot u’ll see more books…forget about the price i think around RM9 per book..
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Darn. I was looking for catch-22 but I couldnt find one. It must be one of you who took my copy. Hehehehe.
I think I saw Slaughterhouse-5 in Bookxcess for RM15. So if you could not find it here, there’s always another place.
Agree with that the whole place was hot, and dusty. The books were everywhere, it was impossible to look for specific titles. Unless if you are patient enough to skim through everything at every corner.
I suppose they could make do with a little organisation. We are talking thousands of titles here. I for one, am not prepared to spend all day looking for what I want.
But if you are looking for just any good bargain, this warehouse sale is heaven.

Haha, there was still one copy of catch-22 when I left. It’s on the stand next to the one housing all the grisham books. Somewhere in that area lah I remember… near the big bunch of jodi picoult books. It’s bigger sized than the average paperback.

any craftbooks there?
October 25th, 2008 at 9:32 am
Hi all… I went there on the 1st day. There are a lot of books, but scatted all over the place. Took a long time to go through each session.
Those of you who are searching for children book (like Ladybird and Disney) may be dissapointed cos’ the ones which are really cheap are left with only a few copies. Those that are plentiful are generally only 30% cheaper than the bookstore price.
They only have a few ladybird series (for very young reader) scatted here and there. To me, I’m rather dissapointed to see the Disney Princess storybook are only 30% cheaper than the retail price.
I see most student went for the dictionary. Overall, I think it is worthwhile to go if you are staying nearby.
I wonder if they will restock on Monday…? Can those of you going today please check with the staff there..?
Btw, please remember NOT to leave the basket at the counter, I saw a lady place the basket at the counter and the whole basket went missing when she is ready to pay..! She have to search for the books all over again.
So, people, let’s be more considerate… I can’t imagine a book lover will do something like that to another person..! Whoever that did that does not deserve to be there at all..! Anyway, just beware of your belongings.
Btw, the staff there are really really nice. Though they may not be able to answer all your question, they will try their best to help. Bravo to the MPH distributor team..! They will probably have the best service award among all the warehouse sale I’ve been to…! Good job…!
October 26th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
This warehouse IS NOT COMPARABLE TO THE LAST ONE BY MPH (NOT DISTRIBUTOR) in terms of PRICING and QUANTITY of books. That one was held 1 or 2 months ago.
Some books that were sold in that MPH (not distributor) can be found in this warehouse, but at a higher price.
In terms of children’s books, the price is cheaper than retail, but it is definitely not an attempt to clear stock, not at that pricing.
October 26th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
went there today and found a copy of cecelia ahern’s if you could see me now for rm10!!!
this is the bigger version (most of the bigger versions of the paperbacks are cheaper — harder to find though)
October 27th, 2008 at 5:38 pm

I bought Tintin books at Rm18 each. At that time of buying, I didn’t really know the retail price but do remember that Times book warehouse sale was selling it at RM24 or something like that. Then later, I saw Tintin sold in a bookshop at normal price of RM30!
October 28th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I have to disagree with Jaf. The books that i bought were definitely below the ones WH sales in Bandar Utama a couple of months ago. Probably different kind of books we are looking at. No point arguing now cos it’s already over.
I LOVED IT.
AP, on Sunday there was a Tintin collection (didn’t see them a couple of days b4) which collects 3 books selling for RM42.
For those who are wondering on what the free books (from the SUN paper) are, on Sunday there were 5/6 books to choose from, a chic lit (i think), and some fiction and non-fiction. Only one i recognise was Seabiscuit so i chose that.
Got a mystery gift as well for buying above RM150. It was sunglasses, a discount voucher & some timetable cum bookmark thingy. Was never around during happy hours tho.
Joanna,
I went there 3 times and the staffs were wonderful. I would love to give a good comment on the sales to the management. Is there any email i could send to?

The warehouse sales was great. But made a blunder. Took one book, checked price which was at RM9, placed the book back and chose another one of the same title from the same rack, thinking it would be the same price. Went home and discovered the price tag of RM20. Sob
