i was at hartamas yesterday for dinner and accidentally saw the warehouse. seriously it is cheap! many books 3 for rm10 (but u seriously have to find time to search for it as there are so many books). and hotseller titles at 30% off ( i bought 2 fengshui books and a diet book) what a real steal!!! Go for it!
Anyone know whether the book by Christopher Paolini title Brisingr is on sale? And how much is it? Thanks
I went there during lunchtime today. First, one of the staff asked me whether i was a Times member or not because only members are allowed today. Then i was pissed off because i know that it is open to non-members also. Last2, he let me in…hahaha…Anyway, I bought Marian Keyes’ older books for RM10 each…Sheila O’Flanagan’s book for RM8 and Jill Mansell’s book for RM15. 4 books for a total of RM43. Not bad!
U is right! You have to spend time to search for books because there are so many books there and it is scattered around…pening kepala…but it’s worth it lah!

i went to the previous sales (i think somewhere during Merdeka) last year. it was WORTH every cent!
i bought few ‘IMPORTED’ cooking and handicraft books for approx RM 15-RM35 each! i guess the actual price could have been RM 80++.
idzma – i bet they should hv books for kids too now. last Merdeka, the kids’ books were bersepah-sepah (READ: A WHOLE LOT!!!)
Hope i get to go this weekend and find some books i’ve been wanting to buy!

I just to the sale during lunch…
firequester – there were some travel books but rather limited. Maybe about 10 different Lonely Planet titles at 30% off. There were also some other travel guides but you really have to look for them through the racks of books. There was aslo quite a lot of hobby books ranging from painting, cooking, art, sewing, house reno, etc.
man – yup, quite a lot of children’s books on sale.
idzma – most of the children’s book are story books or activity books. I didn’t see an exercise books for secondary school kids.

I am mostly interested in hobby books (makes great coffee table books) and also children books. Since we can get tax rebate on books, why not invest in some good read at bargain price.

Speaking about tax rebate, Times has membership card. Can we sign up as members there? I hear that Times gives out yearly purchase statements to its members. Wow, then we don’t have to keep those receipts! The ink on receipts fade out anyway.
hi all! i went there this afternoon . The books on sale are ok..worth buying if u care to spend some time scanning the titles esp.the “3 for rm10″ books. I’ve got myself 2 Jeffery deaver books ( author of “the bone collector”) and a workout book for rm 10 only! many of paulo coelho’s titles r on 30% discount, and the laminated motivational/jokes posters are selling at “buy 1 free 2!!” for rm 7.90.hehe..it’s really worth checking oyut..parking was quite cheap too..its rm1.50 4d 1st 2 hrs..n 50cents for every subsequent hrs weekdays..n weekend got per entry charge i think rm 2.then u can go cuci mata elsewhere summore..n its air conditoned..( chewah..promoting as if it’s my shop pulak..times shud give me more discount for this..heheheheh)
I bought 2 lonely planets@30% off, China & Australia.Not many countries left, Japan, Thailand, India, Korea. Best Seller like Cecelia Adhern, Sophie Kinsella, Jodi all 30% off. Got lots of books, 3 for rm10 but u need to search cause it’s everywhere. Also some books are 50% off.

Just came back from the sale….and totally HAPPY with my findings there!
Spent about RM300 there and managed to get home with lotsa books. The 3 for RM10 sections are really worth it to dig into. I only wish that those books are sorted according to topics…but we cant win all the time rite?

Was at the sale yesterday. If you are serious about books, please take one whole day to browse through everything.. I browsed for 2 hours but with 2 kids running around, there’s only so much you can see..
I was happy with my buy- a knitting book, 2 cook books and some kids games CD and children books. Wish I had more time.
Books are not sorted by topics. I wish they were too. Will visit again to dig out more gems.

Hi…Im looking for a so and so book by a so and so author. Im too lazy to find the book myself so I was hoping if you could find it for me ( I hate it when they are not neatly categorised according to genres. Just imagine getting my hands dirty from rummaging all those dusty piles of books. Im so used to Kinokuniya and MPH) I know you will help me because I know you like the same kind of books that I do. Grisham, Archer and Kinsella make us all giggly and excited!

I love Times Warehouse Sales. I was being sarcastic towards those who complaint about the arrangement of the books and asking if “so and so books” are there. Its a warehouse sale…you cant expect things to be neatly arranged. Thats part of the fun actually…discovering books you didnt plan to buy.

The Star, I think on the first day which is 8 Jan. Then after few days, there’s once in The Sun. The third time I saw in The Star, sorry can’t remember which days but it was just few days ago. Hope you can find it.

Hi Ruz & Krusty Thanks so much for the support and understanding on the arrangement of books.we actually try our very best to arranged according to the section but somehow the books came in pallets and not by subject.by the way i’m doris from Times Bookstores.
Enjoyed this warehouse sale totally and its definitely ALOT better than all previous sales. Kudos to the staff and also I like the venue which helps as its not some stuffy warehouse with no parking available.
