I doubt the prices can match the Big Bad Wolf Books warehouse sale. Gonna give this a miss.

…but if one could probably get books in this one that were not available in the BBW warehouse sale. Will definitely try to go and check this out – no harm done – cheers.

I don’t think MPH can beat BBW’s RM8 per book and RM20 per coffee table book……

Hi Xiao Mei, Big Bad Wolf is a book store but if not mistaken they only have 1 store i.e. in Amcorp Mall, they recently had their books warehouse sale in PJ (I forgot the building but it’s very near to Dutch Lady, PJ).
Their sales were the best, I mean it’s really sincere sale, like what Spallan said all their books were going for RM8 per book and their coffee table books were going for RM20 only. Some said the same book found in MPH is selling like RM20+ during MPH warehouse sale but Big Bad Wolf was selling it for RM8.00 only…..
Hi Joanne, sorry, I don’t have any idea. We were told they might have another round perhaps before Christmas? Mmm, maybe someone could give them a call or visit their store in Amcorp and share with us?

The Big Bad Wolf Sale is a book warehouse sale that is the cheapest ever I have encountered. Many of their children books are sold for RM5, paperback books (fiction and non-fiction) are sold for RM8 and some are RM10. The highest priced books are sold at only RM20. Cheap, right? As much I liked the BBW sale, but I don’t think it’s fair to compare like that.
BBW (the same people who run BookXcess in Amcorp) already said the next one’s only gonna be next year. If you guys can wait for the next one, then more power to you – then it wouldn’t be so crowded at this sale, hahaha…
(And no, I don’t work for neither BookXcess or MPH)
As for me, it never hurts to go take a look, cos MPH usually has newer books that the other sales in town don’t seem to stock. Not that cheap, sure, but you have a choice as to whether you want to spend the money or not.
I total agree with you.
I went to the sale yesterday and also BBW sale last May. If book price is the basis for comparison, then BBW won hands down, but MPH has more authors (hence more selection to choose from).
Either way I think it was worth spending on known authors: lets be honest we may never get a brand new book between the price of RM12 till RM25 (after discount) anywhere else.
We will be back very, very soon… watch out!

am a book lover and i wouldn’t pass this one. there is always something for booklovers in this type of warehouse sales…to each his own…
you know I was telling myself actually going for books warehouse sale is so much better than going for perfume warehouse sale in terms of “investment” you see the books will forever be there and you could pass it on to your next generation and it’s the best thing (we gain knowledge) or for a good read

Went this morning at 10am. There’s an open-air car park (RM1 per hr) two buildings away if you’re early.
Be careful about double parking and parking along curbs. Saw some parking summons on cars!
Maybe it was still early, so it was not yet crowded. Good air conditioning, plenty of 70% books – some though old and a bit dusty but nothing a good wipe can’t clean off. I was very happy with my purchases of kids books and toys (Thomas the Tank merchandise at 70% off!!) My total RETAIL value was RM 700+ but i only paid RM 255 after the discounts (there’s RM 5 off every RM 150 spent if you’re an MPH club member or digi subscriber, or if u bring the newspaper cutout). You also get RM 10 vouchers for every RM 150 spent (but can only be used at MPH outlets, not wh sales). Most of my books were 70% off, some still wrapped in plastic.
Novels and newer books are 30% off.
Plenty of cashier counters, i didn’t have to wait in line. Credit card payment. It was overall a very pleasant shopping experience. Wish all warehouse/clearance sales were such a breeze like this. Even the staff were all very courteous and helpful.
I am 5 months pregnant, and had trouble carrying all my goods, a staff carried them downstairs 4 me and another kind soul took me to my car.

went to MPH warehouse sale early this year and their staff very helpful plus have the positive attitudes even in hot weather last time.

Been to the warehouse sales yesterday. after being to the 2 great warehouse sales previously by MPH Distributer, I’m afraid this one is a big dissapointment. There’s not much selection. Most of the slightly newer books are given 30% discount while 50% are few and the 70% were mostly junk.

this books are 2006 to 2009 editions or its may hv a slight damage on the edge

place is spacious. not hot, crowd is ok not many
they even provide you with bascets to carry your books in
new novel are given a 30% off, 50%
kids book really cheap from 7.90 onwards plus 30% discount

my bill cm to rm8++ i paid about 300
plus rm10 dics on the spot

mph ware house at dataran hamodal is awesome. got many cheap books. and aslo got free gift when u present a copy of the sun newpapers . there aslo got cheap stationery from pilot sales only for rm 1.00 .
Big bad wolf will be coming back around November ya? Simpan duit dulu.. =)
Checked out the MPH warehouse sale at Dataran Hamodal after work Wednesday.
* The Value Buys and the 70% off bins were messy, but that’s to be expected. But also not that cheap cos it’s discounted from the original, 3 digit retail price. Most of the books in this area are better off junked (in my opinion).
* Same goes for the tables with books with the 30% and 50% discounts, which I admit it’s a bit generous, but at the same time, not that cheap.
* It’s air-conditioned, so no worries about suffocating to death like that time at the old Limkokwing campus.
So-so only lah.

The books were okay but not as cheap as BBW’s sale.
I found that the best thing about the sale was the toyss!!!
Can you imagine Mega Block’s, Thomas TT and Bob the Builder’s toys are all 70% off! High quality toys at a fraction of their original price.
For example, toys which cost RM99 are now app RM30, ori price RM170 now app RM50.
Those would made good birthday gifts as well.
My damage was around RM350.
Went there during lunch just now.
Better compared to the prev one held in terms of venue and yea..it is spacious and air-conditioned. Cashiers are enough for all to pay up without queuing up too long…then again, there weren’t too many ppl there just now.
If you ask me about prices, I’m quite fine with it.30% off for well-known authors like Sophie Kinsella, Dale Carnegie, Cecelia Ahern and some Malaysian authors. You may find more that interests you. I had a hard time closing one eye; I came to only buy ONE book. Ended up with 5…will share on my blog later tonite.
I heard from a very reliable source saying the BBW warehouse sale is on this November.
I’m applying for a part time job there during the event, really hope that I get it la..
