  7. Dear All,

The best book sales in town is BACK!
For those who went Big Bad Wolf and thk they are Great, well Pearson sales which happens every once in two or three years is FABULOUS!
Titles here are CURRENT…. so def worth it, prices start from RM10 up (based on last sales in 2007)
FYI I went to Big Bad Wolf and spent money.. books started from RM8 but LIMITED choice and NOT CURRENT

At Pearson, you can find fiction, non-fiction, autobiography, kids, travel guides, cooking, etc etc… definitely worth a visit
some books i bought for RM10 each includes sophie kinsella, devil wears prada, chasing harry winston, hari kunzuru, kite flyer smtg, memory keepers daughter, lovely bones, white teeth
For more ex priced books between RM12 to RM15, these have bigger font typeface or come in hard cover.. i got ewan mcgregor’s bike trip autobiography…

Anyway, you guys should make a trip, i spent rm400 the last time and since Pearson and Big Bad Wolf, I no longer frequent MPH warehouse sales which is kinda rip off sales….

If u have more Qs, fire away cos as a booklover, am keen to share what i can. some tips, credit card lines are super long.. so bring cash
Be prepared to SWEAT, DIG and get DUSTY

To Sara, this is off fed highway, turn into jln othman, at roundabout make a u-turn, and look out for jalan 215. if u knw thesun ofc, its one road before that….
GO EARLY, and trust me u will go back again cos they bring out more and more titles over time.. hehe thats what happened to me.. and i work at thesun, mati.. sure pokai again this round

  8. Moon says:

  9. Moon, not sure if they are buses plying that route. but u can take lrt get off at tmn jaya take a cab. u will reach in less than 5min.

    hope that helps!

  10. Moon says:

    tq mad about bags!!

  11. lizzy gee says:

I am quite sure there is are buses going there but not sure which. Youcan call the rapid kl tel and good luck! But the taman jaya lrt station has feeder bus/es and it is highly likely one of them goes pass/very near assunta hospital. Other landmarks around the area is the hindu temple, MBPJ library, Assumption Church. Or call Assunta Hospital they might of better help with giving you the buses that cover this route.

Bookworms and wannabes, BYOB (bring your own bag)…since there is no harm and little effort, whether it is canvas, plastic or even trolley bag to hold your treasures! Let’s do our bid to be green. Hope you’ll find what you want. I am all for reading :)

  12. Moon says:

thanks lizzy gee for your info.

  13. john says:

    Hi,

May I know whether there’s any parking nearby. I am sure its going to be a lot of cars and finding a parking is a challenge.

  14. Bookcraze says:

Yes! (Thank you MadAboutBags!) we are back!

Fiction, children’s books, Non Fiction, Chic lit etc…many, many, many books to choose from.

For your information, this year 3 credit card counters and 3 cash counters.

Tips: Please note the payment for credit card is separate from the cash counters. So please follow the signs to queue. So its either cash only counters and credit card only counters.

    Thank you

  15. Hey John,

Parking is always a horror at Section 52 area thanks to its industrial nature.

If you’re in luck, you can get a good spot along both sides of the road but for those planning to go during working hours, pls park PROPERLY as there are many lorries and big vehicles plying that route that have NO QUALMS bulldozing through if you park haphazardly.

On the weekends, parking should be better and there is parking all around the area if you are prepared to walk. Based on last sales, no one was charging for parking so feel free to linger.

For those planning to go, an early warning so you are not disappointed~due to the hundreds of books there, more often you will find the books strewn all over the place and not properly displayed in accordance to the labels, if any.

Fuel up on liquids and wear your most comfy clothes and prepare to dig. Can’t wait and if the 2007 sale prices were anything to go by, many won’t be disappointed! Can start buying Xmas gifts, bday pressies too…

    Have fun!

    Rgds

  17. andrea says:

OK, I’m really ready to give up my saturday late sleep in for this!! The last penguin sale was my first step into the world of book warehouse sale. Never looked back ever since!

Question is, anyone willing to carpool? I can’t drive to save my life..
I’ll be somewhere along Old Klang road..

  18. princess says:

Hey, do u all know that the sales starts TODAY (01/10/09)!!
but its only for Digi customer :D

  19. ceres says:

what do we need to show as digi customer? just our phone, right? why is there no announcement…

  20. Js says:

anyone has been there today? kindly update. thanks.

  21. Kate says:

if i were to go next weekend, will there still be as many choices? Please advise…

  22. T&Jeans says:

hi, im interested in ladybird books, so pls let me knw whether it’s worth going!

  23. audrey says:

yes, i was there ten sharp in the morning. more books are there compared to their last warehouse sale in 2007. there are some books are quite latest as i bought them early of this year at mph. too bad my money was wasted on that :(

  24. audrey says:

i will be there again later by 4pm. hope can get a good parking. lol

  25. trix says:

audrey, wat was the price like for latest books?wats t title of the latest books ah? hope u can share, thanks

  26. Momof2 says:

Am so excited about this. Appreciate a feedback if the place is kids-friendly? I am planning to bring my 2 kids there tomolo morning, advisable?

Also is Peter & Jane series available? Anyone online selling the complete 2nd hand set if not available in this warehouse?

  27. LW says:

Just came back from the place. There’s much much more Ladybird books this time round. I’m estimating at least 3x more. For the Peter & Jane series, for those who’s interested – they seem to have the whole series.

  28. Reno says:

Was there at 10 with 2 11-year olds. Frankly I wouldn’t bring young children there (less than 8 yo) because it’s very dusty and hot. Really a wide range of books…paperbacks going for @RM10 and RM15. I thought I was going to spend an hour there, but, got a shock when I saw 3 hours had passed! Bought 31 books for RM525…after shortlisting. Worth going and burning a hole in the pocket. :)

  29. ML says:

    ladybird series RM4 per book.

    activity & sticker books RM5-RM8

  30. ML says:

    ladybird series RM4 per book.

    activity & sticker books RM5-RM8

Not crowded today (Friday at 2pm)

  31. WN says:

Just came back from the warehouse sales. As this is my first time, I can say the books are much cheaper compared to MPH warehouse sales. Peter and Jane series going for RM6 per book and other ladybirds RM4 per book.
As for novels, it’s from RM10 – RM20. They have Twilight and New Moon both going for RM15 per book. but too bad, they don’t have the other 2 books.

If you plan to go there, be ready to get your hands dirty and sweat. Cos all the novels are mixed up and quite dusty. u have to spend your time looking through the boxes. I would suggest to go during weekdays if you are able to make it, cos i guess weekends will be very crowded and hot as the ventilation is not that good over there.

Hope my comment helps. Happy Shopping for Books!

  32. Anastasia says:

I went to the warehouse sales yesterday and there where tonnes of books all around, however it was so HOT under the the zinc shade that I was sweating bullets!!! They should really consider doing this things indoors.

The titles under different genre are quite recent, u can even smell the new books. Since I came a bit late, i even check out the books under the tray!!! Many people don’t bother, but i have discovered the undiscovered books down there so check it out ladies!!!

    Paperbacks @ RM10
    Hardcover @ RM15 (awesome)

Conclusion: FAR better than MPH in book selection and price but still cannot beat BBW in pricing alone.

    Happy shopping!!!

  33. synical says:

Not too crowded, weather still hot. Prices up slightly.

    I just blogged about it – http://lifeasacynic.blogspot.com/2009/10/pearson-penguin-warehouse-sale.html

  34. cutie pie says:

went there yesterday afternoon. am absolutely pleased as i managed to get 4 of the books on my wish list:

    1. The Kite Runner
    2. A Thousand Splendid Suns
    3. The Memory Keeper’s Daughter
    4. A New Earth

and best of all??? i purchased them all at RM10 each!!! :)

  35. Syira Sharif says:

Went there yesterday. Only bought Bloodlines and Bloodlines:The Reckoning, which is good since I’ve been eyeing it when the last time I was at Kinokuniya. Good literature, non-fiction and others. Poor romance selection. Average teen sections. I still think mph has better book selections though, the pricing is ok but I found myself bending down the table for more books since loads of the displayed book is the same one in another table.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the book I really want there. So I went to another warehouse sale-like bookstore, the bookaxcess at amcorp mall and find the exact book I went to the warehouse sale for. -_-

A good time for book seeking but in my experience the cheap pricing made people buying loads of books in a bundle and never reading it. So don’t get caught up with the warehouse frenzy, buy only what you need. Patience is a virtue.

  36. paladin says:

so why can’t any respectable book warehouse sales organisers allocate more than 1/10th of the floor space solely to glossy pictorial coffee table books?
because that surely is lacking in many sales i’ve walked into…

  37. Ann says:

I went there on 3rd & returned on 4th for more. For those who are still planning to go next week, please do so. There are still plenty of books on sale, and much selections.
The only negative point was that the books were not in proper order as it was in MPH distributors warehouse sales, or Popular warehouse sales. Therefore, patience is the word to keep in mind while you dig around.
Go earlier in the morning to avoid the heat.

  38. Applegal says:

Just went this afternoon. Quite happy with the fact that the books on sale are about 50% or so cheaper than the books in the shops, and in pretty good condition. I managed to find “the 5 people you meet in heaven” by Mitch Albom for RM 14!

I agree with the previous commentators on the dusty books and the heat, and the books not arranged in order. Would go again if given the chance next weekend :)

Be careful of parking around the area though, there is one building with 3 or 4 uncovered manholes along the side. My boyfriend and I only noticed them when the driver of a mercedes benz inadvertently drove his front left tyre into one :P But he was pretty cool about it, he even came by to browse at the warehouse sale after that!

  39. T&Jeans says:

This is the best book sale for book lovers! Couldnt believe the titles i got at such reasonable prices. Was over the moon when spotted books by Miriam Stoppard (conception, birth, child health etc) for RM10-RM34!! I want to go again!

  40. Busy Bee Mum says:

Hi, was just wondering if the Ladybird series are available for the early readers? I usually see those for the 6 year olds and not for the beginners.

Do they also have a good selection of interior design books?

  41. WN says:

Busy Bee Mum, yes. there’s lotsa Ladybird series. It’s worth to drop by and take a look. as for interior design books, i m not too sure cos i was not looking for that kinda books.

  42. Catherine says:

This sales is really worthwhile. I found the book I have been looking for by Thomas Friedman. Good variety of recent non-fiction books. The trick is to look under the tables as that is where I found the ‘Hot,flat and crowded’ by Friedman.

  43. Sheau Wei says:

Oh no… I’ve many books in my mind, but I’m out of town during this period, what a shamed!

  44. T&Jeans says:

i went yesterday and am surprised to note that a significant amount of books have been snapped up! I dare not go again as i’ve seriously burnt a big hole in my pocket. Managed to get gems like – New Moon, and books by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Nadine Gordimer, JM Coetzee, etc. Also splurged on Ladybird books. Does anyone know how much the Peter and Jane series are at retail price? Is RM6 per book a decent price? There are also great boardbooks for little ones.

  45. Chitra says:

I got my full set of the Peter and Jane series for only RM3.80 per book. You should look at the 60% book section for this series, if there is anymore left of this books. In the front section, some of the Peter and Jane series are only RM5-00.

Other books which I bought was:-
    Eckhart Tockle’s New Earth- RM10-00
    Sidney Poiteir book-RM10-00

  46. sandra says:

hey guys, if i go tomorrow morning, do you think there will still be any mitch albom books left?

  47. dess says:

    Hi..
i’m now at sarawak here.may i know that is there anyway that people here can buy books from the warehouse sale?

  48. ann says:

i am sooooo happy to get my collection of gossip girl. =) but i missed one! if anyone saw it, can buy for me? plzzz! its gossip girl title “NOTHING CAN KEEP US TOGETHER”.. i wud be sooo grateful if someone grab it for me..

now i was enjoying my new novel dat i purchased from this warehouse title “peony in love written by lisa see”. its wonderful! ;) for a rm10, definitely too worth it!

  49. Bookcraze says:

More books have been replenished today! Do make time to come in the mornings as it wont be so hot!

    Happy shopping!

  50. T&Jeans says:

Yikes!!! RM3.80 for Peter and Jane??? Was i looking in the wrong section??? :( Note to shoppers, pls inspect price tags before paying, cos when i went home, i realized that the exact same books i bought were tagged at different prices. There was only an RM1 diff, but still…

  51. princess says:

    T&Jeans,

I bought my Peter & Jane (1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c and so on…) for RM6 each. No way its price RM3.80 for this range. 60% corner is another range of Peter & Jane but limited only. Outside like hypermarkets, P&J are selling at RM9.90 or RM9.50, the cheapest i’ve seen. RM6 in Penguin is reasonable-la.. :D

  52. Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience.
Finally made time to scoot over last Sunday. Go early if possible not so hot and this time round there were fans put up.
Found it to be more organised this time round. Once you enter, to the left, kids, school, management, hardcovers mostly. To the right, mainly paperbacks, fiction, non-fiction, travel, idiots guide etc etc

Overall, prices were generally higher.. the average paperback being RM15 (which is still a great deal) and if you’re lucky, the book you like is priced RM10
Another new addition is the KBSM school books section, with discounts between 50% and 60% off.
For those who like Twilight series, good deal for first two books with big fontsize at RM15 each
They also had prepacked 3-in-1 books going for RM30. Downside can’t choose your books, upside – usually two good books, one questionable
Alot less sudoku and puzzles and DIY and hobby books

Had an unpleasant experience this time: Books and boxes stacked over each other so i removed one box to try to take a book i saw. This really obnoxious person just extended her hand to grab the book i wanted…after which i said to the idiot that i was trying to get that book.. da fler just looked over me and walked off… so infuriating!

Anyway, suffice to say i gave up trying to see if there was another copy after hunting for it for another hour

In short, I actually spent less this time round… which was surprising even to me…
I even looked under the table… hmmm

    List of books I got…
1/ A Thousand Splendid Suns (RM10 – same priced for kite runner, great deals!)
2/ Diary of Adrian Mole (RM15-hardcover)
    3/ Long way down (autobiography – RM15)
4/ It’s Not About the Coffee: Leadership Principles from a Life at Starbucks (RM15 – was lucky as this is hardback priced like softcover… other hardbacks were priced RM25)
5/ Finding the Next Starbucks: How to Identify and Invest in the Hot Stocks of Tomorrow (RM15)
6/ Queen Camilla by Sue Townsend – satire… damn funny for those who like dry Brit humour (RM10)
    7/ Madame Bouvary (RM10)
8/ Entire collection of Jane Austen novels in one book (RM15 – another fantastic deal!)
9/ On beuty – zadie smith

Still wondering if I should go again this week…. what i noticed Big Bad Wolfs more fantasy and coffee table selection and Pearson more fiction/non-fiction

I guess till I read of more interesting finds from SNS readers :)

PS: More bags updated at http://www.lovelybags2go.blogspot.com
Do check it out as non-branded bags start from only RM10up

Need to clear to put space and fund my passion for BOOKS :D

  53. T&Jeans says:

Princess – thanks for the info.
Mad about bags – they also had Adrian Mole & Weapons of Mass destruction, and lost diaries 1999-2001. All Sue Townsend books are hilarious! If you like Zadie Smith, try reading The Autograph Man.

  54. Chitra says:

    Princess,

During the first day of the sale, i went there in the morning and the full set of the Peter and Jane was going for 60%. I guess you just missed the good offer and sorry you did not get the good bargain!!!!

T & J if you are still interested in getting Peter & Jane do check out the 60% section as there are still some series left when my friend went tehre yesterday. In the front section, of you are lucky you would be able to find the series for RM5 and RM4. Look at the tray which is opposite the RM6-00 books for better bargain.

  55. T&Jeans says:

chitra, where’s the 60% section? im scared to go again for fear of being tempted to spend more…When i went on Monday, i saw some Ladybird books going for RM2, bt mostly RM4 for older series and RM6 for the latest ones.

  56. princess says:

    Hi Chitra,

I was there too on the 1st day early morning at the 60% bargain place (far behind – after the teens section), yes there are some P&J books but not the 1a, 1b, 1c and so on.. i saw.. u managed to get those in set!? WOW.. u r a very lucky person.. Those P&J books i bought at RM6 each was located at the front corner with other ladybird titles.. DAMN i miss tat :( FYI, 2 yrs sales ago, some ladybird books were just selling at RM1.50 each!!! YES, same books! RM4 now is exp!!!!!

  57. T&Jeans ~ thats the book that the idiot grabbed! Adrian Mole Lost Diaries…. i hope you are not the LADY that did that!
    ;p
But anyway, i tried looking for another copy.. hardcover some more… gave up….
Did they have Autograph Man thr?
Hmm, looks like another visit this week then…..

    Cheers :)

Drop by http://www.lovelybags2go.blogspot.com for PRELOVED HANDBAGS
    :D

  58. Branlau says:

Hey, has anyone checked out Chaptersnverses yet?
It’s apparently the new online bookstore in town… heard they have some pretty good titles at low prices…

  59. ann says:

erk? did i just read twilight series was at rm15? I just bought those 2 books today which twilight cost me around rm21 & new moon cost me around rm24. dats weird! =( ouh! did they raised up the price today? =(

  60. SYD says:

Hi , the Peter & Jane series are going for RM6.00 and there are some for RM5. I did ask one of the guy there and he mentioned that the 6 ones are the new covers and the 5 ones are old covers but the contents are the same. I managed to get the whole series but missed out some C series .
There were also plenty of other ladybird titles disney movie titles and reading scheme series which are going for RM but some of the readers series are not complete . I remember buying those in bookshops at 9.90 those days for my eldest daughter. But overall they have plenty of Ladybrd books this time around compared to previous years .

btw did anyone saw “have a little faith ” by Mitch albom . I managed to buy some special edition of tuesday with morrie at 15 ( hardback) but the sad part is there is a line drawn at side of the books . I checked and notice most of the books are with line ,dun know why? Overall I was happy since i managed to get the books i want . Just to bad i cannot go back again ,need to catch some sleep ,doing night shift this week . maybe will go again this sunday morning to dig for more books. Can anyone let me are there still much choices ?? any new coffe table books ?

  61. Erisya says:

I went the 4th of October at around 10.30 am and ended up browsing for books till 3.30pm! Luckily that day is mostly cloudy so instead of sweating bullets,I was humidly clammy and the relief the few rotating ceiling fans provided under the zinc roofing did little to relieve me. The books were extremely dusty and as a result (partly due to my habit of touching my oily nose and sweeping my hair from my forehead), my face break out (as in grow pimples) worse than when I was a teenager!

There does seems to be inconsistency in price tagging the books (as in the same book could be priced differently). So my advice is, as you are browsing, check the price of books that you already covet but came across again as they might be cheaper! (The cashiers seems to follow the price tag prices religously)

My main objective was Twilight & New Moon (thanks for the heads up on this WN!). Considerable amount of paperback copies stacked near the counter but I noticed some of New Moon price tag differ between RM15 & RM25. Twilight is priced tagged at RM15 but luckily the cashier girl informed me of its real price of RM10 and proceded to charge it likewise.

I noticed that a few display table near the cashier, the price of novels were slightly higher as they seem to be popular titles (price tagged in green at RM20 & above) such as the Harry Potter titles, Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mystery novels, Gregory Maguire’s Wicked & Son Of A Witch, Candace Bushnell’s One Fifth Avenue, etc. My guess is that they brought in these titles to take advantage of the bargain hunting crowd by pricing at discount prices and not warehouse sale prices. It may seem prudent to go there in the early days of sale as it seems (from the comments) as the sale went on prices went up! *sigh*

My overall haul is 19 books at RM270. Satisfied at the variety presented and suprised at a few bargain discoveries. The earlier Big Bad Wolf Sale is definately cheaper (thus put a lot more dent in my wallet) & slightly more comfortable environment but the Pearson sale variety of current titles far surpasses the former. Would likely to go again towards the end of the sale depending on my credit card limit & recovery of pimple breakout.

    ;-P

P.S. – Shoutout to my sister & ‘Little Black Dress’ books lovers; take notice! Wide selection of titles at RM10 each! Hehehe…

  62. T&Jeans says:

Mad about bags – nope, it wasnt me! I saw another copy (hardcover)when i went on Monday and was tempted to buy cos my daughter ripped the cover of the one i bought recently!

Generally im quite disappointed to find out that there’s a diff in price. I bought twilight for RM15! I’ve also noticed that Wolf Totem either goes for RM20 or RM10 depending on maybe publisher or edition.

SYD – i think lines are drawn on the bottom of books to indicate that the book is headed away from bookstores, and maybe back to publisher or discount store.

  63. hi guys,

thanks for heads up T&Jeans, definitely going back to hunt for that elusive hardback!

ann ~ did you check if the price sticker is green? green labels more expensive. for the others, pls take note…

SYD ~ only mitch albom books i saw were tuesdays with morrie and for one more day. as for the lines, no need to worry about that.. it’s just a precautionary measure taken against those who purchase there cheap and sell it at retail prices… ie other bookshops or whatever

hop on to http://www.lovelybags2go.blogspot.com for good deals from RM10up
    :)

  64. Erisya says:

Luckily, if not for my meticulous nature of looking out for the best condition of the books that I want (thus prompted me to pick up and scrutinise each same book title copy I could find), I would not have noticed the price tag difference!

I must confess that I did a little unscrupulous experiment & got away with it. When I came across a copy of Gregory Maguire’s Wicked priced at RM22 (green price tag) I scraped off the price tag just to see what the cashier would do. The cashier’s assistant (the one who count the book in relation to price & plastic bag them) take the book price as RM15 according to a similar looking book (the sequel – Son Of A Witch) which was price tagged RM15 (white price tag)! Hey, it’s seems fair to me that if they want to cheat me of the different prices, I might as well cheat them back!! (Conscience Clearer Warning = Dont follow my example guys but if you do, dont be too obvious!)

    :-D

    • Erisya says:

Another example of different price on same book that I came across is ‘Se x & The City’ by Candace Bushnell which some are priced at RM10 & some are priced at RM15. Which goes to show that you have to look out for white price tags too, not just the obvious green ones!

    • Jack says:

I believe they had done an honest job by offering book at cheap price. I had check with them that the green tag is the new stock which is better condition and latest title. The white tag is the offer stock. You had demonstrated a bad example and disrespect the book reading people.

      • Erisya says:

Well, you can agree or disagree but I hardly think of it as disrespecting (but I did say that it is a bad example)! First of all Jack, from what I could gather from all of your comments here, you are undoubtedly part of the organizer (Pearson Warehouse Sales Staff) as your comments have insight into their mechanics and excuses for people’s complaint. I didnt diss the sale (in fact I did give a long and favourable review of it in a previous comment and bought over RM200 worth of books). From what I could see, the green price tag books were of same quality as white price tag one (dusty and some signs of wear and tear, i.e. = same). As for ‘latest’ title, I found some of the same title with green price tag in white price tag too. I just think it is unscroupulous and devious of them to sell ‘new’ books at a warehouse sale at slightly discounted price (and not at the standard warehouse sale prices of the other books)….It’s called ‘taking an advantage’ and this is called ‘making an opinion’…

PS – ‘book reading people’??? As opposed to non-book reading people? Im a ‘book reading people’ too…does that mean I disrespected myself? I think as a part of the staff you feel that I disrespected you…Well, *DUH!* I had my reasons and next time dont insult your customer’s intelligence…

Does anyone know how to go by bus? or any other way to go there? any university textbook

    • plume says:

I don’t think any bus go there. The best way (if you don’t have a car) would be to take the Putra LRT to the Taman Jaya station and take a taxi from there.

  66. T&Jeans says:

Crazy me went again yesterday! This different price tag thing is like a boobie trap! I saw 1000 splendid suns going for RM21 instead of the RM10 i paid for last week. There arent that many RM10 books left…most are RM15. Compared to the Utopia that was last weekend with a sea of books for RM10, RM15 seems expensive! I found a vintage box set of ladybird books for boys (RM25) which was absolutely awesome, but i didnt have enough RM on me. 6 books reproduced exactly like they were in 1962 – 1970! Drool, and sigh.

  67. hi T&Jeans,

did you see lost diaries adrian mole?
im planning to go tom…. should i even bother then?

it’s funny cos i was thr last week and hardly saw any books rm10
    mostly rm15….

    regards

  68. T&Jeans says:

Mad about Bags – As i only had RM50 on me, i tried not to look too hard, so i really cant say whether that book’s gone or not.

Emm…i dunno…it seemed that way to me :)

  69. Rachel101 says:

I got 14 books for RM 190.00. Books were in an ‘okay’ condition. Lots of digging needs to be done. So be patient. Went there buy public transport and it was worth walking as it is difficult to find a taxi in that area. Oh and friendly cashiers too. (:

    Happy bookhunting!

  72. capone says:

hey i am looking for a couple of pearson published uni text books.. aany idea if this warehouse sale includes tertiary text/reference books

  73. ww says:

Just to share, one of the book I bought had two price label RM7 & RM4 and realized it when reach home (the receipt shows that it was charged as RM7 and not $4!)

So pls double check before paying

  74. T&Jeans says:

The difference between the same books with green or white price tags were negligible. A miriam stoppard book i bought for RM34 (white tag, good condition) was going for RM67 (green tag) on the last day of the sale. As much as the books were cheaper than bookstore prices, i must say that the discrepancy between prices is something that needs to be improved on. I bought identical children’s books, white tags, and upon reaching home realized that one was RM4, the other RM8.

  75. ww says:

Well, mine both pricing label were on White Tag.

Just do not understand why they have 2 tags on it?

  76. Reno says:

My kids pointed out to me that some books have both RM and $ tags, so naturally we are charged RM.

  77. Jia says:

I went to the warehouse sale yesterday, and I can say that I was quite satisfied with it..I didnt expect to see that many books around (even though they weren’t arranged in any proper order)! The only two regrets I have was not having the time to go earlier so I have more time and a book which I forgot to pick up before I left yesterday.

Does anyone know when will there be another warehouse sale organised by Pearson and Penguin books?

  78. Jack says:

During the sales, overheard a lot of new visitor who is first time to “Warehouse Sales”. They complaint why there is no catergorize on the book. Duh! Visit bookshop if you want it by catergories. Why there is so hot in there and dusty? Duh! Visit bookshop for the cool environment.

  79. Price Craze says:

Yup! Can’t compare the atmosphere of the bookshop with warehouse sales. Anyway, just to share that not all bookshop will selling at a reasonable price too. For example I seen the series called What To Expect series which is offered more expensive at MPH (RM64+) and lower at other bookshop (RM60). I also found a different cover which is UK version and selling at RM44. But this is only available at other bookshop and not our leading bookstore …MPH. Lately, I find it very dissapointed to visit MPH bookstore. There is lesser range now in the shop. For example, you can’t find a complete range of Peter & Jane books in there. Anyway, I found my need in Borders as they offered more range there.
