  1. low says:

This will be the greatest warehouse sales in the year!

  2. ann says:

do they sell any twilight series before?

    • airnigma says:

the choices they have in their shops are somewhat limited, they don’t have some of the latest bestsellers. i would not have too high hopes of seeing twilight there. it’s a bit of a rojak, you could get lucky.

  3. eza says:

definitely going this time, since i missed the first one..
and the venue is very convenient :)

  4. Kate says:

oh no…..i have 30 books that i haven’t read yet, at home…n now the sale is back again….

FYI to those that didn’t make it to the last one, the choices are quite ok…better than MPH but slightly less so than the Pearson’s sale…definitely worht going…

  5. Ban says:

Hey, is there any computer books in this kind of warehouse sales? Anyone?
I m interested in technical books.

  6. ceres says:

yehey…am so excited ….more books to read for me and my kids…

  7. T&Jeans says:

Does anyone know how the price of books at this sale compare with Pearsons?

  8. Kate says:

Bid Bad starts at RM8 while Peasons starts at RM10 – this is for Paperback Novels…there are some kiddies books that sells at RM4 at both sales IF I am not mistaken….
Thebooks are a bit more current at Pearsons comapred to Big Bad…but it’s still definitely worth it to go….

  9. Anastasia says:

Hopefully this time they will organize the books in its specific genre… the last sale was quite an experience after trying to scrutinize each and every book titles….it was just all over the place….That’s not something I relish doing again…

hopefully u r hearing this BBBS.

  10. Gilliebean says:

I agree! Categorising the books would definitely make it a better experience. I did not buy as much here the last time vs. at Pearsons simply because my neck ached from browsing through every single title to search for what I want.

  11. Aaron says:

i wonder if they have variety business titles? someone please enlighten me. i dont 1 to go to a mostly fiction titles warehouse sales. thanks

  12. Erisya says:

Yay!! They’re back! Last BBW sale, I went to 1st and last day and each time I spent a lot (Luckily I bought with OCBC credit card = additional discount!)… Agree with the comments that less recent bestseller titles but great variety. Last time have about four or five tables on miscellaneous books (self help, business, computers, uni textbooks, coffee table books etc.) near the magazines. Although the focus is on novels, the other type of books are worth checking out too (though not in abundance as novels)! I did notice that they did try to stack the books in category but I guess the people browsing tend to move them around (as is per normal occurance in warehouse sales). Glad that the venue is more accessible but worry I have to get there early to beat the foot traffic! See you guys there!

  13. sharlyn says:

    take lrt to Amcorp Mall

  14. mummyB says:

    hihi,

Any books for kids? e.g Peter and Jane series, Usborne series…..

  15. paladin says:

i hope there is an enforced BARED ENTRY for:-

    - casual browsers who just take up valuable space
    (with no intention of buying).

    - likewise illiterates or those below the age of reason
    - and especially all who DO NOT RESPECT BOOKS.

    - also let’s add those with running noses, cough and flu.

Put this into place and it would be a near book heaven.
Now let’s see this happen, when damaged books are to be paid for in full when ever offenders (no matter how tiny they may be) are caught red handed on sight for mistreating any book in the mad scramble…

    • clownkiller says:

i so agree with Paladin!! especially the part “and especially all who DO NOT RESPECT BOOKS”

if it also not to much to ask – pls add a sign to tell the customer to refrain themselves from PUTTING THEIR BOXES OR BASKETS ON TOP OF THE BOOKS while they’re browsing thru a book…. it really2 irritates me when they do that… not only it will spoil the books, but it also prevent others from picking up a book from the same table… bloody selfish ppl!!

oh and nosey people, pls refrain yourself from browsing thru other ppl basket/boxes too! i’ve had experience once where there’s this one auntie was picking on my book while i was standing right next to it! wtf???

  16. Mary says:

For MummyB: from experience of the past BBW sale there will be no Peter and Jane books or other Ladybird books. No Usborne either. There will be Campbell, Make Believe and Priddy books and loads of other great books for the below 6″s. For children above 6 there will most likely be lots and lots of paperback story books with prizes between RM2 and RM5. You won’t be disappointed!

  17. joy says:

hi, i’ve not been to the earlier sale.

wonder if there’s any enid blytons books or PL Travers book – mary poppins?

also any hinkler publishing books esp sticker books for toddlers/pre schoolers

    thanks.

  18. Mary says:

For Joy! Last sale there were some Enid Blyton paperbacks – The Adventure series at RM5.00 each. Hinkler books are usually only sold in MPH but at the last sale there were plenty of other pre-schooler books and sticker books. No doubt this time the choice will be large as well! If you would like to get some Hinkler sticker books at RM4 or 5 you can go to Amcorp Mall on Sundays. On the 1st floor (right under the Post office) is a bazaar trader who has a small selection.

  19. joy says:

Mary, Thanks for your reply and recommendation :)

  20. Busy Bee Mum says:

I am going to take leave for this. It was really worth the effort when I went there the last time. Read my review here – http://ideasandreviews.com/the-big-bad-wolf-books-sale.

I also ran a contest on the sale here – http://ideasandreviews.com/the-big-bad-wolf-books-sale.

Look out for the next contest when I come back from this sale then!

  21. ramesh says:

…must take m.c. this thursday .. no second thots bout it.

  22. andrea says:

Here’s another reminder to all to bring your own bag. It keeps your hands free, and you wouldn’t need to carry those irritating boxes all around. Plus you wouldn’t be irritating others when you put the boxes on the books!

I’m going this Friday to stock up for my year’s worth! Hooray!!

  23. CHRISTINE says:

    Any Chinese books????

  24. christine says:

    Please comment
    Any Chinese books???recipe book???

  25. Rachel101 says:

gosh i cant wait to go for this sale, do you think there are any classic storybooks like jane austen, charles dickens etc?

  26. josh says:

    extremely excited for this!

  27. eeygurl says:

Anyone went already to this sale? Kindly update..

  28. Hot mama says:

Went at 12pm, It was terribly crowded! Q to go in for 5 mins and Q to pay for 1.30 hour! The place is small, parents pls don’t bring your kids along!

    • Kee says:

At least you q for 5 mins, earlier, the crowd were so bad, that they have to wait for an hour before the “bouncer” allow them to go in.

  29. yus says:

I went there around 12 pm. Crowded but still walkable. Grab the books I want and queue to pay.

Queue would be tough so get yourself a box and put all your book inside and push the box with your feet.

  30. Brown-Clown says:

Ya, I agree, there are “Too Many Ppl Who Go There Just To Throw The Books Around And Just Gossip About Other Ppl” wtf. It is not a coffeeshop or a nasi lemak stall, it’s a book sale. For serious browsers only.

  31. sally says:

is there wide range of books?

  32. Ms Darcy says:

Arrived at 10.30, place was still not that crowded, but by 11.30 the cashier lines were terrible. By then, the organizers had stopped additional people from going in, and a line to enter the sale area was forming. Did not bother to wait and left empty handed. Book selection looked good, but payment was the pits!

  33. Brown-Clown says:

Don’t go back empty handed. You should grab while you can. Just hantam aje.

  34. Kee says:

The books are great! But the crowd —tskk…tsk… TERRIBLE!!! People “potong” q. Pushing at you with their boxes, kids screaming and parents are at lost trying to control them. I was there around 10.30am. Crowd still manageable. But by 11.30am, it’s a mad house. The stuff cannot control the crowd. They don’t have a good mechanism to facilitate payment. Some buyer got angry when other people jump q and rude verbal were exchanged. Threats were thrown out, ensuring that the q jumper will go to hell. Yes, it is that bad.
I started lining up to pay around 12.45pm, unfortunately for me, the line in front of me keep getting longer. So, at 1.30pm, tired, cranky, and thirsty, I have to abandon my books. :(
Yes, you can leave it with them and come back to pay later (before closing at 9pm). But I am not sure that the situation will improve by then.
So, if you want to go tomorrow, bring a partner/friend. One person go hunting for books the other start lining up. You might just make it.
    Good luck to you all.

  35. j3ssicac says:

Disaster! Waited almost 30 mins & was still stuck outside the entrance of the mall.. They’d blocked off the entrance by then & cars can’t even go in to find parking..left without even stepping into the warehse sales :( It was about 12pm then! Bad location, it was made worst due to another mobile/of warehse sale held there starting today too! Saw tht banner while stuck deep in chaotic traffic jam. Will probably go next wk to avoid the public hol & weekends crowd tmr onwards. Hopefully there’ll be improvement at payment counters then.

    • Kee says:

Oohh… that’s why the jam is so bad lah! I agree, the location is very bad. The cinema is not suitable for book sales. I think their previous location is better. More spacious for you to walk around and the checkout line is CLEARLY VISIBLE!
I must admit, I don’t really have a enjoyable time shopping for books – a first for me.

  36. Brown-Clown says:

Most of these ppl at book sales not even there for the books. maybe they there cuz they teman they punya fren. So they are looking at covers of romance novels and making dirty remarks and go whooping, sometimes whistling and shouting from one corner to the other. Behaving like they just crawled out fr kampong and never seen women before. Such a bad influence to little children there.

  37. Samnica says:

went there about 11.30am. Q was insane and snaking around the entrance. Took one look at the Q and decided to go for lunch and come back later. Came back after all the office people went back to work. No more Q at the entrance but the Q at the cashier is snaking around all the books that it was next to impossible to even take a look at any of the books. Decided to head straight to the next room where all the children’s books are. So much better.Less crowd. So decided to start looking at the chidren’s books first while waiting out for the cashier Q to ease up. Thankfully by 3.30pm when i got what i wanted, the Q for the cashier is much shorter. Only line up for twenty min. My damage, not too bad, RM95 for 15 books. Quite happy. Tips to all, take LRT and come with a lot of patience. If you drive, you will be stuck in a massive jam trying to get in and later get out. Thankfully, I decided to leave my car and take LRT.

  38. Anastasia says:

The books choices were much more than last May. Priced still at RM8 for most fiction books. The placed was air-conditioned but by 11am, it was a total madhouse! I couldn’t breathe in there!!! The aisle was smaller compared to the last sale (but then i guess there had fewer books back then).

If u plan to go – be there before 10 am n bring a friend. It was worth the hassle as your companion can hold on to the books while u browse around a bit. I really enjoyed having first pick on the books…. by 10.30 many bestselling authors were snapped up…

Overall exp: ecstatic with my purchases.

  39. KL says:

went @ 3:30pm. traffic was jam. but luckily could easily find my parking outside the mall. it was crowded but still walkable. not many childrens reading book. can’t find any ladybird or usborne. most of it are scholastic & others publishers.
a LOTS of teenage fiction books and adults fiction and non-fiction priced @ $8 onwards. best selling author very fast being snapped up. timeout travel guide start @ $8.
chinese section price start @ $3.
Q for payment was very fast @ about 5pm. Q less than 1 minute. hope they will put out more books for sale tomorrow.
Advise: don’t bring children. environment not suitable for them, eventhough there is aircon. perhaps can go later in the afternoon or evening.

  40. joshua says:

will the stock be replenished everyday or by last day tinggal those books that no one wants to buy? thinkiing of going tmr but public holiday….. maybe monday to avoid the crowd….

  41. paladin says:

Ha! Ha! waddy’all xpact with the typical M’sian crowd?
    jom heboh at it’s best!
the venue is fine, but the turn out this morning (and indeed for the entire day) was much, much way too large than the organizers had originally anticipated.
besides if you’re a regular who frequent Amcorp mall on Sundays, be prepared to always face parking woes around noon ‘n lunchtime.
    Hot parking tip!
Stay clear of the Mall’s basement parking area.
belive me it’s a madhaus with it’s total lack of allotments on a busy day.
i can’t imagine how the traffic condition would turn out come this Sunday?!!

  42. Brown-Clown says:

Madhouse indeed. It’s like a whole kampong decided to ponteng in the warehouse together.

  43. Sze says:

I went this morning. could park, walk, choose and pay timely. =)

  44. Kev says:

Went at 5pm today, wasnt too crowded but definitely cramped. Selection was meager. Does anyone know if they replenish sold books each day? I might have missed out on the better books since I got there so late.

  45. Dupz says:

ya they replenish books everyday coz i heard they say everyday got different book.
i was kind of disappointed coz i didnt get to find the books that i wanted. i guess u need to be fast and also be patient in searching for the books u want.

  46. ratna a says:

went on the first day! brought my kids… definitely not a wise move. sooo full house at that time around 10.30-11.00. yep the traffic outside was already bad.

pity my kids was unable to choose their books calmly…. pity me can’t even properly go around to choose. just went to kids section and the fiction corner and payment was tough. pity the staff when some of the customers shouted at them, i suppose the crowd was overwhelming even for them. not expected. they would have been more prepared if they knew and they will be better next time.

it was a good bargain on all the books. and was happy. hopefully will be able to come again on monday!

  47. IcedNyior says:

Went Friday morning and started lining up before they even open. Manage to grab a lot of books at a VERY cheap price.

My review – wrote down the genres of books I saw and also some pricing/pics/ etc = http://me.zestful.org/2009/11/big-bad-wolf-book-sale-at-amcorp-mall/

  48. Kev says:

Went again today at 10am. Selection was better but not enough to be called impressive. Anyway I’m much more pleased with my haul today compared to yesterday’s.

The Brothers Karamazov – Fyodor Dostoevsky
    The Crossing – Cormac McCarthy
    Dracula – Bram Stoker
    Midnight’s Children - Salman Rushdie
The Men Who Stare at Goats – Jon Ronson
    Middlesex – Jeffrey Eugenides

I actually regret buying some of the titles I got yesterday.

  49. Kev says:

Oh and it’s very very hard to find a copy of an undamaged book

  50. CarsonDing says:

Anyone saw any Ringing Cedars series books?
Or where can I get them locally?

  51. lukaluka says:

Random books, random authors, books everywhere….im glad this sale didnt leave a big dent on my wallet. For someone big on fiction, im better off at the Pearsons booksale.

  52. arie says:

do they sell novel by cecily von ziegesar> gossip girl novel, it girl Novel?does any1 know??plz i just want to buy those novel…it x sell there, i wont go so it will reduce the crowd =)

  53. ramesh says:

    my 3 cents

asterix the gaul 2books, RM12 each. very happy. (i want to sell one of it)
    garfield – 4 books, RM10 each
coffeetables – herbs RM10, English castles RM15, English Gardens RM20, islands to visit RM10
magazines are pricey – national geog, conde nast traveller
self improvement books – fish tales, soup for romantic soul, deepak chopra title

the venue is small, tables too close each other and not convenient to carry boxes. staff helpful.

    parking:
Thursday 1030am ground level parking full. upper level parking are all reserved! not even a signboard at entrance. Drove out and in to basement, lots of parking.

    experience
the shopping mode is grab-and-pay. all the fancy books are taken by the first few shoppers to enter with their kids. selection range is few ..yet i managed to spend more than Rm250. happy :)
the cashier q was snaking all around the small venue, so i placed the books at customer service and paid in the evening.

Organisers : pls switch venue for next sales.

  54. ramesh says:

then i went to popular warehouse sales at summit..by chance. i never liked popular coz they dont have good selection of international books.

the hall is about 5 times bigger than bad wolf with as much more books.
80% chinese. The chinese section itself is many times bigger than bad wolf. now i understand why i overheard this lady at bad wolf lamenting about the so small chinese section ah?

most books marked 70% off and outdated . spent another rm150 on dilbert (RM10), 1000pgs ‘pocket’? colour encyclopedia on roses RM20!!, garfield RM10, 2 indian fengshui books dirt cheap, and so on. there was much more variety of coffetable books albeit with worn looks all going jaw dropping cheap. i have to talk myself out of grabbing them. no magazines.

crowd were totally relaxed . noone was rushing around to grab books and stuff into their boxes. paying was a breeze.

  55. eza says:

i saw in the big bad sale website that they are lowering the price of the books to RM5 each today! Chinese books going for RM2 each. OMG, it’s gonna be a madhouse!

  56. Rachel101 says:

even if all the books are priced at rm5, are there many left to choose from today? how’s the crowd at night? your views are most welcome…

  57. hi everyone,

i actually missed decided to give this sale a missed as i spent a bomb at pearsons recently.
anyway, is there anyone wanting to let go stuff?
