    buy if off…thats what everyone does. :) Unless u got a friend working in the makeup industry under those brands, you can get it. This sale is basicly for Estee Lauder staff..but somehow its leaked to the public.

    i went to the counter and asked they told me their own staff invitation card is for staff friends & relatives. and to get the invitation card, just go to their office and midvalley to get it. before going pls call them to reserve first :)

    very2 worth to go!!!! more than 50% sale. Last year kalau MAC, 3 lipglass only for rm50. 2 blusher rm75, 3 lipstick for rm78, 2 eyeshadow for rm60, form/face powder rm50. very2 worth to go for MAC lovers!

    to get the invitation card u have to go to their office at Centre Point South, Midvalley to collect it by urself. This time, no reservation thru fon call like last year. so, hurry up!!

    Shisha : I dont think they will, because this supposed to be staff sale and if you want invitation card you gotta collect it from their office and probably you can ask your friend for help :)

    Just FYI, they still have the invites as of this afternoon.

    @Rachel: From last year’s reviews, if you want first dibs you need to go at least at 5AM to wait in line, but it seems that if you go even at 1pm+ there’ll be no1 there and still stuff available.

    I’ve not been for the sale, but read reviews

    Knowing that someone selling the invitation card at RM 100+ each. I mean this is a bit ridiculous that they got it free from your company but they use this opportunity to earn money.     Lynn, stop being a sourpuss. No one is going to give you the tickets for free. Anyone passing the tickets will incur phone, transport, time costs- and they will have to cover it. It make sense for those not utilising their tickets to pass it to someone else (either through sale or freely).

    I think any rational person will sell to the highest bidder, unless they are really ethical or dumb or willing to have people take advantage of them. If you haven’t notice, you are not the only one who wish to go to the sale. So, you may need to get in line in fighting for any available tickets there are around for sale.

    Anyway, I wish you luck in getting a ticket yourself.

    PS: I am not selling mine, but I think you are being too judgmental here. Not everyone is trying to rip you off.

    I think the same as Pam. I bought mine from a friend at college, but I don’t think my friend is doing something wrong. In the end, what I buy and save from the sale would exceed that. Many people wants the card, you are just frustrated cause theres no more and the ones out there are for sale. I still thank Sara for selling it to me cause I can’t wait for the sale!!!

    Don’t think its wrong to sell the tix. If its out, this sale is worth every penny. However, RM100…is way to high. I bought mine for RM30 the last time. I so want to go..but I dont have time to pick up the tix at all and they are closed over the weekend. :(

    this is the crazy sales that ev women wanted to go..but no worries as their competitor also handling the warehouse sales more than one times a year(lancome,loreal group) .I think that EL shud give this opportunity to the public,after all not all can come to the sales. example like lancome…every one can enter the sales, It’s only one day sales..so lets every one come and borong your product,after all the company also wants the stock to b clear..

    i think rm100 is worth it la if u r fan of EL, BB and Mac. cos u can save a lot of money during the sale. Bobbi Brown stuff is soo expensive at the counter.. if u buy a lot, can sell balik. so rm100 for ticket is so worth it.

    zomg please ppl, go get the ticket yourselves rather than buying from scalpers. Or, be patient and wait for the next sale. Seriously, spending RM100 even BEFORE the sale?

    Also, I’ve read from previous reviews that by about 11am or so they stop caring about the card d, so you might want to make your way over at about then.

    Just FYI, this sale wasn’t meant for the public in the first place. I’ve told them about the situation, and even gave suggestions on how to combat it (e.g. register names and IDs) but they said the sale wasn’t meant for the public in the first place, hence they cannot do anything

    RM100 is worth to buy!! I’ve been followed this sales since 2004. first batch goes in are the BIG buyer who don need invitation card but they knew who are they. second batch goes in are the VIP card which in different color from ours. by the time “we” staff/public goes in with the normal invitaion card. the auntie keep talking with the mic would non stop talking to her mic to chasing ppl out, my friends wouldn’t even look at me once we got in the sales ;) (so busy..) mostly hot selling items will gone even you are the first batch go in. remember, even if you got the VIP card but if the staff don’t know you, you still will have to Q. most ppl will go to the perfume and LIPSTICKS area, so try others products if you are not that into perfume. pricing increased every year, loose powder from RM40 till last year RM60 but still worth to buy. MAC limited pellete is a MUST BUY but don worry since it’s not really that cheap RM80 last year. go toilet before you goes in. found RM100 on floor last last year… sorry who dropped it :( origins not cheap. DO NOT bring kids. DO NOT ask me if I’m letting go my staffs if you sees me carring yours….. GOOD LUCK Ladies!! Happy Shopping!! I have 3 extra cards!!! Meow!!!

    anyway, for some ppl who r not looking 2 borong lotsa stuff, or juz going there 2 buy few items only, i believe u can go later in d afternoon..last year my fren came ard 1pm (she doesnt hav any inv. card) n she managed 2 go in..as there was no more ppl/crowd/que, the EL staff will juz let u in..she was juz looking for some perfumes n some cosmetics n managed 2 buy things she wants even with less choices…

    btw, last year there wasnt much of MAC stuffs except for lipsticks,eye palletese etc..and at 1pm, there was still a lot of perfumes left..hopefully the payment system is as efficient as last year…

    This is a undesireable situation to be in since the invitation cards are actually ‘not for sale’. If i didn’t have one and wanted alot of stuff from EL&co. i would probably spend some money getting the invite too. Happens every where but looking at the number of sellers, looks like alot took the card with intention to sell at least one of them. Maybe EL should have a better system. Am i going to be thrashed? IMHO I don’t want to see EL getting in trouble or consumers getting disgruntled. Next thing you know, you have people printing fake invites and things get out of hand! No more of this kind of sale, only limited to VIPs on their database no more open to the public :(

    I have a very high respect for Estee Lauder the founder and her daughter, the values they espouse and the social causes they support. The other companies under their umbrella seem to have similar standings. If the late Madame Lauder knows about this ‘making money’ from the goodwill of the company, she will turn on her grave. The company should have a better method of giving out these cards so it is fair to all.

    This is really the most dramatic post I have ever seen. We have got the elated people (who have got their cards already), fanatics (EL ws crazy people), the stinge (people who don’t want to pay a dime to go, but wants to go), the jealous freaks (those who wants to go but too cheap to pay or to righteous to do so), the commentators (those who talks all the time but no action) and the watcher (look see, look see group). No wonder the post is so full of bullshit. Wake up people to the real world. Nothing is free. If you expect people to give you the cards for free, are you not taking advantage of them, as you complain how the card sellers are taking advantage of the people who wants to go but “can’t get the cards”?

    There is no such thing as “cannot get cards”. You have a choice. Don’t get the card and don’t go, or sacrifice something (in this case money) to go. So stop all the whining- it is getting old.

    I don’t get it with you guys. Lala, this is suppose to be a neutral forum. Why would you bring politics and all these nonsense in here. I use to study international conflict and I can tell you that many of this people that are still fighting today for these “causes” do not even remember what was the source of conflict in the first place. They only remember what comes after and the stories that are told to them. Did you experience the actual history and what went on? Don’t be blindly led in a chain by people who tell you stories.

    Let me ask this question to both Lala and Lili..both of you are in no pain over the Palestinian issue (unless you are from Palestinia of course), and your children will not likely to suffer from the occupation and war of Israel and Palestinia. Why in the world do you want to bring the war/ cause to Malaysia. Will you rather Malaysia take sides and become destabilised, and then go to war too? Isn’t this detrimental not only to yourself, but your family and children’s future too?

    Ppl like this always argue that they fight for their children’s future. But the way you guys are doing it, do you realise that you are in fact making your own children and the future suffer? You are filling them with so much hate (as probably your forebears fill in you) that they are not able to live a “normal or peaceful” life.

    After studying so many conflicts, I always believe the road to victory is through peace. It takes a stronger person to maintain peace, than to create havoc.

    PS: I am not pro-Israel either. In fact, I prefer to stay apolitical in Malaysia for the goodness of my blood pressure- except during elections, that is.

    This sure looks like a pasar borong wet market place! A bit weird when talking about Estee Lauder sale some more not selling fish or vege! Beli sementara stok masih ada, nanti habis rugi!!

    Just be careful as someone said, expiry is near, get enough for next few months or half year perhaps. I have branded cosmetics and skincare that i used when expired eventhough keep in the fridge, the lipstick started staining my lips and i did get a bit of break-out from the skincare. Plus, it is not so effective. Spend you hard earned money wisely. Want not, waste not or is it waste not, want not? Both!!!

    if I’m not mistaken it was on 13/7/10, I sent my friend go behalf on me. she bought back so little things coz each item is allow to 3 maximum purchase. according to the girl who invite us to go, she has been followed this sales for many years coz she has a friend who work in Chanel, she said they might have 2nd sales but not sure. don’t worry I sure will post here once I got infomation.

    Eve, I was given an EL lipstick with a color that was very dark, dark red purple. I used it sparingly as it was not very suitable for every day wear. After a year, it started to stain my lips..like after a few days i noticed my lips got darker after a few days of not using it. So then i stopped coz it was quite significant that my lips were darker. I don’t think the lipstick was frm a EL warehouse sale. It was from a friend who bought it overseas but sure it is genuine EL. Back then no immitation and my friend doesn’t buy immitation. Just my experience, not saying EL products are no good. Expiry dates are there for a purpose, not asking people not to use but don’t buy too much maybe a year’s supply until the next sale.

    Oh, last time I bought Biotherm makeup base from a warehouse sale and the manufacturing date was about 18mths ago. I was hoping it was okay but i did have breakouts. Maybe it was my skin sensitivity towards the product. But normally good brands my skin is usually okay. The saleslady assured me a number of times no problem…the product was not that cheap either for a warehouse sale. Hearbroken as i couldn’t use it and dare not give it to anyone else in case…

    I am not here to create unrest so i shall say this with an open and genuine heart that I am happy that Meow meow, you are considering giving away some of your many cards that you wanted to sell. But to say some are red eyed etc, you have not understood the true intent of some of the comments.

    Some of us have zero vested interest (as much as this is an endangered trait to have)doesn’t mean we cannot be here. Then,those selling their cards, should they sell in this manner freely? Sns, maybe should consider charging them for selling like this.

    At least some of the unfortunate ones who were too late to get the free ‘not for sale’ invites from EL that were gasakked so fast, can have a choice to get it from Meow meow instead.

    I rest my case and wish all well. Hope the EL warehouse sale is worthwhile as it has been previously.

I cannot believe how many people are willing to BUY the FREE invitation cards and even more so of those who are SELLING the FREE invites! Tsk tsk….looks like it’s going to be as crazy this year as it was last year! I’m still contemplating whether to brave the massive crowd this Saturday….but to those who are going, happy shopping! :)

    Gals, sorry if i gave the impression that i have invites,I don’t, not even half a tikcet lol. I didn’t go to MV to get the complimentary invitation cards as I don’t have makeup or skincare that i really want or need. Of course if i go there on that day, for sure I will buy so better not and let others who have more stuff they want , to have the invies. If I had a number of things to buy yes, i will weather the crowd etc because it is so much cheaper.

    Meow meow is the one who has a number of cards and she was giving away some. Might have finished by now. There are so many who want the card but don’t have it and so many who have extra cards and selling it. Selling an invite that is supposed to be free.If selling it and recovering some of the cost and effort of going there to get it seems reasonable but the prices some quoted are around rm100. That’s making a large profit. EL, still feel u should step in and control the situation.

    Those like me, not going, or didn’t get an invite. Chill, these are just material stuff that we should not get too attached to. Go get some more beauty sleep and then have a nice breakfast K! Hugs, you will survive!

    lizz gee, my invitation cards had only sold 5, after I mention the rest I will give away the rest, most of the buyer will ask if they can have more for free… I’m so confused and my mailbox had gone crazy with ppl sending so much of free cards. I don’t know what to do, those who bought from me I’m sorry. I might as well stop selling and giving out, what do you say? it’s just a event ppl took it so seriously, actually if ppl will go after 11am they don’t need the card really coz they don bother anymore. for those who go Q at 6am then only need the card, and for those who only need to buy 1,2 lipsticks, or spend like only RM100 also don’t need the card, go after 11am, there are still left many products to sell. I wonder ppl out there could understand. haiks… I’m so tired of reading this blog and really like to stop reading…as I had mentioned before I will not post any comment…

    actually selling the ticket is just to earn back money to treat my friends who has given me the cards for free, I’m not sorry for that. is that so wrong? those ppl who gave me cards will actually reserve the cards for me without telling by me, I’m flattered and always pay back in kind like baking some good cake cookies. I think if you’re kind enough to your friend you will always get good rewards. I’m so lucky so have many friends…

    Just read through the most recent postings of the last sale.

    A precaution:those using personal shoppers,there was a case where the shopper charged for the service (additional rm10 on every product) and marked up the price of the product by a few hundred%. It is supposed to be either or. Perhaps get the shopper to give you a copy of the receipt so you know the actual warehouse sale price. And pay her/him according to the agreed terms. The plastic wrap around the product should be intact with the price also.

    ##If there are kind souls who can quickly post the warehouse price list here after their shopping spree.It will be helpful for all to make informed decisions,please. ##
    Please remember if it is cheap even if one is willing to buy at a 300% markup really think if it is worth it as the expiry date is near. The quality of the product may not be as good

    I am going to take notice of last year’s prices,it should not be that different this year.

    Dear Estee Lauder . . . . suggestions for the EL “Staff” sale:
    1) Strike off Note#6 in the invitation card.
    2) Remove the word “Staff” from the invitation card.
    3) Have the invitation card available to serious EL fans by selling it for RM100 a piece.

    Pros:
    1) EL extra petty cash.
    2) Clear stock.
    3) Card distribution control.
    4) Crowd control.
    5) “Legalize” subsequent card selling & buying.
    6) Maintain exclusivitiy.

    Cons:
    1) Fake EL invitation cards for sale . . . . which could already be in circulation.
    2) Lost opportunity to engage fence-sitters to try out great EL products.
    3) Actual EL fans need to pay some extras.

    Generally may satisfty 70% of grouses ?

    since im already corrupted by these posts, i might as well try n fit in. i do hav some point we can all consider, so we can all help to maintain this site for its purpose.

    1. The invites are not for sale. but if A decided to sell. B responded n willingly agreed to pay. Its mutual transaction. whats ur problem?
    Do charity if u hav extra. Dont take other’s so u can give away.

    2. it may come easy for some. me: work sux all year-but these r my sugar frosting. so i got 10 tix, rather than randomly making others life easier-selling or otherwise, id rather not share at all and b sellfish for my own benefit. i even cut the queue to the cashier by 9 person. r u gonna sit a demo?

    3. I saw ‘maintain exclusivity’
    who are we kidding. exclusivity remains the same at the respective counter all day-all year. ELs doing the right thing giving us cheapskates, the chance to taste luxury. those rich b*s dont need these, they dont even hav to break a nail for free tix like we do. ure here, means we’re on the same hunt. bargain. r u trying to kill our only hope??
    err..EL dont need to b told babe..they’re like our parents.

    no matter what, the fact is if ure in here then we are all the same.. the thrifty bit who -either rich or poor- knows the value of hard earned money. but im never ashamed to b seen trying to defend my money or to show up at warehouse sales. Life is already so hard. whats so stressfull abt goin for a theraphy? see y’all jaguh kampung, wonder woman n political-defects tis Sat!

    I was one of those who was conned by a personal shopper during the last EL staff sale. She offered her service by charging additional RM20 per product, which I thought was reasonable as I mostly wanted perfumes. Being easy going by nature, I didn’t ask to see any receipts when I paid her for the items. What I didn’t realize was she also marked up the price by RM30-RM50 each! If someone offers personal shopper services, they only have the right to charge the agreed fee. They CAN’T mark up the prices as well. They can only mark up a little if they bought extra and want to ‘let go’ of the items. In this case, they shouldn’t charge the personal shopper fee. It’s either or, not both.

    I even bought some items from her which I didn’t ‘order’ and she also charged me the ‘personal shopper’ fee and marked up the prices on top of that.

    When I realized what had happened after coming across a price list someone had posted in here, I contacted her and demanded an explanation and also asked to see the receipt. She denied marking up the prices and conveniently ‘lost’ the receipt.

    I’m sure she’s still active in the SNS blog but probably using a different nick now as I’ve made everyone aware of this conwoman here after that stunt she pulled on me.

    This year, I am making time to go to the sale myself to avoid using any personal shoppers!

    So buyers, please be careful. I’ve learnt a valuable lesson from this and that is never to be too easy going with personal shoppers. And never be too desperate. Ask for as much proof as possible. If they call you a fussy bitch, so be it. At least our wallets will still be intact! You have nothing to lose if you don’t buy from them, SERIOUSLY!

    To those out there who have gotten their hands on extra cards and are selling them/asking for petrol & toll reimbursement, please stop being so ‘kind’ to collect extra cards and selling them off for profit. When there’s money involved, it’s selling, regardless of what you want to call it to make yourselves feel better or to justify your actions.

    No one asked you to collect the cards for them and I’m sure that you went to the EL office to collect the cards, first and foremost, for YOURSELVES. You are denying others of the FREE cards by greedily collecting extra cards. Those who are without cards today might have been able to get their hands on a card had you not been so ‘kind’ as to collect extras for the purpose of selling them off later. If your friends are kind enough to reserve the cards for you, you can always say NO, I ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH, THANK YOU!

    At least you managed to get some stuff. For those who don’t have patience and have phobia for crowded places this will be the last place to go. Would imagine that you see the stuff on the table but cannot reach it until 10 minutes later and by then the stuff is gone!!! But since people are let in by batches maybe not so bad but you might not even see the stuff because all sold off! Queue start at 1am wow that’s a record! Will keep in mind wear soft sports shoes man,another reason to bring out the dust covered shoes lol

    Went there at 2pm… walk-in, didn’t need the card, luckily managed to get what i want and need and not overspend (from being blinded by all the low prices)

    Things bought:-
    4 eyebrow pencil from MAC – RM72
    2 lip liner from Estee – RM40
    1 Delicious Night shower gel – RM30
    1 set of Estee Lauder eyeliner, concealer, mascara, lash primer and lipstick – RM90

    This year, at least didn’t get blinded by the prices and simply grab grab grab….

So may be next year you can try your luck to get free ticket during queue up. The sales very worthy if you make up often. But I am not the person. My target is to grab Origin facial and help up my colleague to grab some item.

    Hell yah, I was there with 2 girlfriends bout 10am. Not very long queue, EL staffs didn’t even ask us for the invitation cards!!! But my friends saw them asking from others, no idea of it! They were letting ppl in by batches since 7.30am. Still got lots of good stuff by the time we went in bout 10.30am. Origins skincare almost gone at all. DKNY & Tommy Hilfiger perfume in good deals, Clinique & Lab Series skincare too. So I bought perfumes and skincare items at very good deals! Bobbi Brown had lots of liquid foundation, 2-way cake & eye shadow. Estee Lauder is not my preference but I bought 2 lipgloss. My fav MAC mixed up all the stuffs with 3 in 1 pack this year, mostly RM72/pack. I got 3 packs with total 9 lip gloss, 4 eye brow pencils in a pack & 1 blusher 1 eye shadow in a pack. They packed 2 lipgloss 1 lipstick in a pack which I don’t like the lipstick as I’m not using it at all. Luckily managed to get 3 packs coz some ppl opened up the packing & wanted to repack the items but EL cashier didn’t allow & returned it back to the counter. 1 of the EL staffs was kind enough to let me choose the lipgloss colour & packed it for me. Thanks to her for getting me 3 packs of lipgloss!!! Lots of ppl left the place with huge bags… EL warehouse sales still the best! :)

    for those who follow this sales for many years should noticed they make up a lot on the sale. pack few things and force you to purchase at least RM70 but not selling individual. Very disappointed of the sale!!! Estee Lauder and Clinique are generous not really mark up, but Bobbi Brown and MAC are rediculous!!

    Meow,I see quite alot of stuff being posted here and i guess people buy in sets and then split it up for sale. Rm70 or more per set if 3 items seems okay for BB especially. Their lipstick and eyeshadow around rm80 each! But don’t know they mix good and bad colours. But it is hard to just buy the sets as rm70 is not a small amount. What did you end up purchasing?

    Still wondering, were there samples to let us see what’s the texture and colour before purchasing? Care to share the prices of some of the stuff? Might just go next year but prob. not join the main crowd to start queueing at 1am oh my, that’s something! Seems like there were still goodies at 9am and i don’t need an invite! All are welcome!

    like mac.. even they have packed it up… you can still ask to see the sample color that you choose & they will actually unpacked & show it to you if they do not have the sample which i think it was very nice of them :)
