Would you travel all the way to Carrefour to save 48 Cents on Beer?
January 23rd, 2009
We know that during CNY Beer & Soft Drinks are popular buys during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
But we were rather curious and wonder would you travel all the way from Tesco (the logo that resembles “competitor” on their ad below) to Carrefour ?
What if Carrefour was several Kilometres further?
We just wanted to see if you would go to Carrefour just to save 48 Cents… let us know!!

Source : Sun

If it was 2km to and fro I would! For me, Big No as I think I’ll be spending more than RM0.48 going to Carrefour. I’ll save more by buying from their competitor.
if Carrefour is just behind of my hse, or if i happen to drop by there, i will buy.
not unless i happen to be nearby a carrefour outlet
Petrol there would be more than your rm0.48…… then the Q-ing part would take up most of your time!
only if nearby.
Yeah that’s what we figured too on the Petrol … i wonder why Carrefour even bothered to put a front page ad on the SUN? Hmmmm
48 cents get you about a quarter of a litre. thats about 2.5km on the average car.
which mens if u bought just one carton of beer, it would mean nothing but some time wasted. but what if u bought 2?
then there are those who favour competitor over carrefour even tho they live nearer to a carrefour. u know, brand loyalty than all that.
as a consumer, you obviously think of trying to save more money. but even if it doesnt actually, the long view is that buying from the cheaper source keeps prices from inflating. there will be downward pressure on competitors in terms of pricing.
If the difference was much much greater than RM0.48 I guess most people might consider…….. but the difference would have to be like rm5/ctn
no..of course not..I saw the ad on theSun paper today..gee..so much for the competition!
But, I’ve just bought rice for rm48 yesterday while today is only rm39 ..still, not care that much..:p
i will
no….the petrol also not worth it ad….if got toll summore
WAH… 48 cents of discount.. that is much more than i expect… i am willing to waste my petrol to get the discount..
48cents? not really…
parking already more than 48sen.
But Marcus.. only 48 cents wor? Really? That worth it:) hehe
alamanda got only carrefour and cold storage…and yeah…mydin…
Aiyo…come pandamaran, klang. Tiger RM75 per crate, Carlsberg RM70 per crate.
Saving for 0.48RM while paying higher price for others? No way.
Carrefour shall consider overall competative instead of single item cheaper, this will not able to swing customer interest over.
this doesn’t appeal to me…cause i live in Kota Damansara, where the two direct competitor is situated!! Sigh!
I don’t drink at all. Just wanna say I hate the queue at Carrefour. Very long and slow =p
it depends on how much can/bottle u wanna buy. not for me btw. heh
not me… thank you.
I’m not that desparate.
