eh i want to start a new topic but i don’t know how. i need information about good gynecologist and how much they charge. i also need info where i can get ultrasonography and how much. thanks in advance

What’s your definition of a good gynae? Mine would be someone who really takes the time to explain things to their patients & make them feel comfortable, not someone who’s just out to make money & make you feel like you’re taking up so much of their precious time, just because you ask more than one question!For me, I chose a female gynae & had absolutely no regrets. She’s experienced, patient & really shows her care & concern about her patients’ wellbeing. Of course it helps that she’s absolutely fantastic coping with emergencies! She was recommended by my childhood friend who nearly died at childbirth. She suffered a collapsed uterus & was bleeding non-stop. Dr. Susanna Huam of Damansara Specialist Hospital saved her life.
For me I started off by choosing the hospital nearest to me. In case baby decides to come at unopportune time, I wouldn’t need to elbow through the notorious KL jam. Later on, found out from cousins that there’s a good gynea in Assunta Hospital. So we went ahead with Dr. Liew Fah Onn. He is a very experienced gynae. Charges in Assunta is quite reasonable, about RM40 for consultation (except 1st visit).

Yep having a hospital nearest to your home is the best pick, as my baby girl was premature and rushing to the hospital is hell if it is too far. My dr was very good. He name was Dr Jeremy Chuah but sadly he passed on away recently. He was from Pantai Bangsar. Abt RM 70 per visit except for 1st visit.

1) Prof. S. Raman
2) Dr. Patrick Chia
3) Dr. Yap (Female doc)
All the doctors there are very experience and are well known among all the gynaecologist in Malaysia & overseas (i.e. branded gynae). They handled alotsa problems in pregnancy & women wellbeing.
But one word of advise, pls be patient. The appointments are very very very pack (especially on Saturday), therefore, the waiting time estimated will take ard 1 – 2 hours easily. However, u will feel is worth to wait for such long time becoz of their level of care & the experience of the doctors + their good advices.

I have just given birth and throughout my pregnancy from the 4th month, i have been very very happy with Dr Tang.

Dr Tang is very nice n gentle …a very humble n simple lady…
As u know SJMC can be making u wait….but as long as u get there by 8.15 am…u shd be between nos 1-5 n if she does not have delivery then you shd b done by 10.30 latest.

thanks for all your response. i already go to dr. siti at sjmc. she’s good but for me the overall charge too expensive. for dr. siti they charge me 90 rm and then for image 66 rm for outpatient 12 rm and that’s not include the medicine. is there anyone know about selangor medical center and salam medical center??

Dr Siti is good also la. She very experience one. Just make sure U write down all your questions U wanna ask her cos she busy and have tons of patients that wanna see her. I find her prices are very reasonable..after considering all the prices…I think the bottm line is who U feel comfortable with, & who U trust.
Things that u shld consider b4 choosing a gynae:
1) Hospital location
2) Hospital charges
3) Gynae’s experience
4) Gynae’s charges
I strongly recommend Dr Delaila of SJMC. Her private clinic is in SS19 Subang Jaya is open daily till 11pm. Consultation is FOC & normal ultrasound is RM55 only. She even have a 4D ultrasound machine there. Charges is higher if u see her in SJMC. Delivery is done in SJMC. She is quite detail in her explanation. Queue depends on days /time…hardly any patient if u go on Saturday nights. I’m currently seeing her for my 3rd pregnancy. Used to see another famous gynae @ Pantai, Bangsar, but decided to change gynae after she missed to detect neural tube defect in my 2nd child.
*Tried Prof Raman of FMCG too, he’s good & Dr Delaila will recommend him if see sees anything abnormal in the ultrasound, for 2nd opinion. But the charges is pretty steep. Did a detailed ultrasound with him once for RM250. Found out its just as detail as Dr Delaila’s.
I’ve seen bills from these hospital for delivery (normal & C-section) & I can roughly rank the prices:
1) D’sara specialist hosp (highest)
2) Pantai Bangsar / Ampang Putri
3) SJMC (lowest)
& somehow I found that most of the staff in my company will need a C-section in DSH. Dunno if its just a coincidence or the gynae there just prefer do it the fast way…hmm…well those are just based on my personal experience…
Another tip to save cost on pregnancy supplements is to purchase themt at your local pharmacies:
1) Folic acid – cost only 10sen per tablet, while medical centres charge up to 50sen per tablet.
2) Calcium – u can easily find 600mg tabs calcium at the pharmacy at cheaper/ discounted prices

Assunta Hospital is located at PJ center, in between new town & old town. You can take the Jalan 222 exit along Federal Highway, then turn right (if coming from Shah Alam towards KL), pass through 1 runabout (12 o’clock), and Assunta Hosp is just on your right at the 2nd roundabout.

i went straight to dr delaila’s clinic the first time… charges were reasonable… RM135 total – ultrasound, urine test, CD-with video/image clips & consultation…
RM210 when doing the vagina swab for strep B….
RM490 … when doing the blood test… supposed to di it 2 times.. one for mom’s blood typing/grouping/antibody… etc…. another for baby, to check baby’s risk for down syndrome and etc… but i did it in 1 go… so thats why RM490..
due in 2 weeks @ SJMC.. hope it wont cost too much
oh yah.. i bought all my vits/supplements on my own… to save cost…. told her what I have (obimin, folic acid etc…)… if she think i need iron or calcium… she’ll tell me…

Its ok not to go to SJMC. If u want to deliver there, she’ll trf your file there later. U just need to turn up at SJMC when its time.

She’s that famous malay lady doctor tuu…the ultrasounds done was too brief to detect anything, i guess. Even so, another specialist told me that since the location is at the lower part of the spine, its quite easy to miss..hmm…
My gyne was Dr Zaleha from HUKM. she delivered both my babies. Was a very gentle gyne. Eventhough there’s a lot of patient, she never rushes her check ups and its normal for patients to be with her for at least 1/2 hour. The downside is, the will be a long queue to see her. I once met a patient who was referred to her by another gyne in Ampang Puteri as she deals with complicated cases as well and would prefer natural birth if she can help it.
Prices in the private wing of HUKM is comparable to SJMC, i supose. Not too expensive. About rm80-rm100 per visit. But she only sees patients 1 day in a week and takes a long queuing time at HUKM.

Does anyone have any experience with gynaes in Pusrawi Kota Damansara? I am currently shortlisting possible places to deliver, but haven’t heard much about Pusrawi.

I went to KJMC for chk ups and delivery coz its like 2 minutes away from my house. My gynea is Dr Fatima Najla, who’s really good. She explains well, answers all my silly questions, gentle when doing vaginal chks, does all the scanning patiently (esp when we did the 4D scan to see my baby’s facial features, coz my baby covered her face with her hands! haha). She also doesn’t try to push too much vitamins in your face and only prescribes the necessary. During labour n my emergency c-sect, she made decisions quickly and handled me, a 1st time mom very well.
The downside to having a popular gynea is of course, the long Q. On a workday, i could be waiting for an hour or 2 easy. I didn’t even dare to go on weekends unless absolutely necessary. During labour, she had like 2 other patients in labour including myself at about the same time. That said, she managed all 3 just fine

Dr. Ummul has been my gynae ever since she was based in Salam MC. Now that she has her own private clinic – UMRA (with her husband gynae – Dr. Rafi), I find that she is a bit too busy and always in a rush. So waiting can be kind of a bore, esp. for husbands. Nonetheless, she and her husband make a really good and honest pair. The clinic is cheaper compared to Salam too. I’ve had both my kids with them and I am definitely a contented mummy.
June, I had emergency c-sect because my baby’s umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. I did try to have a vaginal delivery, but after 6 hours of induced, intense contractions, i only dilated 3cm! Based on the machine they use to monitor contractions, i should’ve dilated at least 6cm. Dr Fatima was concerned so she checked and discovered that my baby’s head was starting to swell, so she ordered an emergency c-sect based on that, not by asking me to have one. She was worried that the baby might suffocate, or even worse, start pooping in the womb coz I was already 1 week overdue. She only discovered abt the umbilical cord when she tried to take my baby out.
I wouldn’t know if my gynae is the type to recommend c-sect, but with me, she encouraged normal delivery, as much as possible. While i was in the labour room, she had another patient who was also in labour next door, and she managed to give birth normally despite the fact that the baby’s umbilical cord was wrapped arnd the baby’s neck. I guess it all depends on the baby’s position and perhaps the length of the umbilical cord coz my hubby said that our baby’s was rather short.. Dunno lah kan.. hehe.
I’m not trying to vouch for my gynae, just stating my experience. And so far, I have 5 other friends who are Dr Fatima’s patients, and most of them delivered normally. I guess it all depends on the mother.. diff women will hv diff experience.. What’s important is the baby is delivered healthy and safely.

Nurul, I would recommend Gombak Medical Centre, its at Taman Sri Gombak. You take the mrr2 menghala ke Kepong. It’s near the intersection to go to Taman Industri Bolton. But you have to call to book for appointment first cause the doc is quite busy

Well, for me i had to pay for both, c-sect and induced labour coz i did try vaginal delivery first. So our final bill was about RM6k. If i’m not mistaken, c-sect alone would be around 3-4k. My total bill was abit more expensive as i stayed an extra day and we took a slightly more expensive room.
Normal delivery would be around RM1-3k, depending on your needs (ie. epidural, induce, etc). Chk up will depend on which doctor. Dr Fatima’s consultancy is about RM50 (if im not mistaken). Of course the scanning and all will be at a different charge.
All in all, i think KJMC’s rates are still ok for a private hospital. It’s not as expensive like Damansara Specialist Ctr or SJMC, thats for sure. Furthermore my gynae came highly recommended and KJMC is just 2 minutes away from my house.. haha.
Hope this helps, Faza! If you decide to deliver at KJMC, do remember to inform the nurses that you wish to breastfeed your baby. Otherwise they would happily pop a bottle in ur baby’s mouth for his/her feedings. I had to request to breastfeed my baby EVERY time becoz i didnt let them know beforehand.
To all mom, the best and resoanble place to be is UMRA SPECIALIST CENTRE in shah alam. the dr’s are too good. The charges are too resonable and affordable. I have delivered my first baby there. Doctors do not go for C-section unless its for safety of the baby and mother. Their they perform mostly normal deliveries. Doctors Name -Ummul Wahiya. Its the best place to be during such period of your life.

i do agreed with Haze becoz me also one of Dr. Fatima Najla’s patient. Her comment is absolutely same with me. Dr. Fatima wouldn’t simply do c-sect. She really encourage her patient to go for normal delivery. Like my case, I don’t have much energy to push my baby. I had to push quickly because my baby already poopoo inside the womb.My baby almost lemas.While struggling pushing the baby Dr. Fatima gave me a motivation and pull up my confidence that I can push harder and had normal delivery.In fact, the nurses are very kind and helpful. My billing was about RM2250. Two bedded rooms,one nite stay and induce.
For c-set, the cost will be around Rm4-6k.It is depend on your condition. So I guess if you are paying by yourself, just put a budget of RM5k.

I’m a mother of 2 lovely daughters.
My gynae is Dr. Tan Boon Khim of Selangor Medical Centre. I was recommended by the nurses there and found out that he was very good and took the time to answers my questions.
Before we decide to take him as our gynae, we went to Darul Ehsan Medical Centre but knowing that place is usually full (my SIL had to wait in the labour room after delivery in the morning up to evening as there was no bed available) we decided with SMC. Furthermore the hospital is near to my place and have adequate equipment in case of emergencies. Their Paediatricians are also good.
I like Dr Tang but like i said, female docs seem to instill more trust, not necessarily cos of skill(during delivery).
I choose male doc cos I cannot stand waiting 2 hr, and I always go on a weekday. Dr Fan has 4D machine and last time I heard, Dr Tang don’t have. Both can be found at Taman Desa Med Cent.
A fren delivered normally at SJMC at RM2k+ under Dr Siti. Is SJMC as expensive as it is reputed to be?
I think Damansara specialist cent is unethical; the overcharging don’t just apply to child deliveries.

nurul, i dont agree with sheila.i have had xperience with Dr Nor Fidak@Gombak Medical Centre. She’s so good and very gentle….but unfortunately gombak medical dont’t have enough equipment for delivery.even their nurses also not well trained. gombak medical Nurul, just imagine when i really sakit nak bersalin…the doctor asked for shaver…the nurse dont no apa tu shaver…tension gila i…dahla terjerit sakit..then suddenly tilam kat hujung katil tercabut…..pas tu bilik takde air panas….it was my bad experience being there…and for yr info, theres only a few cases yang having c section.most probably they dont have much equipment..and then my baby kena kuning…still takde equipment..then kena refer kat gh…for me the things u should consider,the hospital should have;
1) ICU
2) Labor room
3) Paeditrician
sayangnya Gombak medical dont have all that..but u still have to pay around rm2k for normal delivery….
Recently I delivered my 2nd baby at Tawakkal Hospital with Dr Jaafar..He is so generous.It cost me around RM2k for normal delivery and RM60 regular check up.

Dr. Paul Tay is at Prince Court Medical Centre and Assunta. PCMC provides 4D scans, and the hospital is much nicer compared to Assunta!
Every doctor says different things. I went to 6 gynaes up till now. Depending on how you see them, its all subjective. However, about hospitals, most are out to make money anyhow. Damansara Specialist for one. I had a miscarriage and went into emergency and they did nothing to try to save the baby. Charges are ridiculous too. On doctors, I like Dr. Raman. I think hes professional and caring. His experience in handling pregnancies is remarkable.
What kind of Gombak Medical Cent is that? May as well deliver at home.
Normal delivery at Taman Desa Med Cent shoudl be RM2-3k, but I don’t think this includes Epidural.
Dr. Fan’s(TDMC) consultation charges vary from RM40 to over RM60. Seems that if you ask more questions, the consultation is RM60 and above. My highest so far is RM75. Is this the normal practice?
Consultation fee = consultation + standard ultrasound. Not include supplements (folic+calcium) & admin fee (RM5).
Is it cheaper to get calcium lactate & folic acids in pharmacies?
My doc give me 300mg calcium, yours? I thought Dr. Tang give 500/600mg.

Im currently seeing dr fatima as well and was interested when i read ur comment abt the 4D scan. i didnt know that the dr has a 4D scan cos she did all the scanning using 2D. do we have to ask for a 4D scan then or will she be using it at a later stage of pregancy? im currently in my 29 weeks . Im a patient of dr fatima & did my 3d & 4d scans with her. This 3d/4d scans are optional. Her charges (RM150) i reckon are cheap compared to the rest. I had a fren who did at SJMC & it costs her RM500 & D’sara Fertility’s min price is RM250. What u need to do is to call her clinic & fix an appointment. They allocate certain time for this kind of scan; mine was done during weekday lunch hour. I cant recall when its the best time to do it but I did mine when i was in week 26. Since u r 29 weeks, u better give her clinic a call n enquire coz after certain weeks, the baby would be a big too big n has less space n it would be hard to capture the images & hard to manipulate the baby’s position. If u r interested, u can have a look at my baby’s images & video done by dr fatima. Have fun with the scan:)

She’s new there but my friend told me that she is very GOOD docotr in terms of giving him advice & she’s really sincere to attend a patient!….

I was just wondering, when will be the best time to visit the doctor for the first time checkup?
First time check up to confirm a pregnancy??? Or first time check up with gynae for general health??
For pregnancy, you can go as soon as you test positive at home, normally around 4 or 5 weeks after first day of last period. This is to rule out ectopic pregnancy. You can listen to the heartbeat during the 6th week.

Gynae would basically just confirm the pregnancy by doing a vaginal scan. If your visit is during the 6th week, then you can hear the heartbeat.
Gynae would also prescribe folic acid for you if you are not taking it already.
It is basically for you to see whether you are comfortable with the gynae and for you to ask any questions regarding pregnancy. It is so important that you like your gynae!

i went to dr delaila’s private clinic the other day.. long wait but definitely worth it! she did a very detailed scan on me, explaining every single thing about the baby.. i feel so relieve to know that the baby is doing ok! the detailed scan + cd + scan photo cost RM200, calcium supplements + consultation altogether is RM310. quite expensive but worth every penny! she’s really friendly and makes the whole checkup fun and comforting.. and yes, she’ll transfer ur files to sjmc for delivery.

i’m not quite sure about the doctors in demc.. according to her, during her 1st pregnancy, she was on epidural and didn’t feel a thing. her baby’s head was already out but the nurse kinda pushed it back in bcoz they were not ready for it yet. the baby stucked there for a while. at last, she had to deliver her baby via c-section. scary huh?

Just found out I’m 6 wks pregnant & am doing research for a doc. Since I live at OUG (off Old Klang Road), I’ve decided to look at Assunta & Tmn Desa Medical Centre.
Based on online research, found tht every1 speaks of Dr Tang Boon Nee, Dr Loo (of TDMC) & Dr Liew Fah Onn of Assunta.
Any mothers out there who have experience with these doctors?…Any advice on costs/how the doc’s are and also how is the general state at TDMC & Assunta?

dr guna in dsh is ok.if u’re comfortable with a male doctor,he is good.i have been with dr maziah at dsh for 8 years already,delivered all 3 with her.dont always agree with the price,sometimes too ridiculous..but i have no choice coz it is the nearest to my house and very convenient.any suggestion for a good female gynae around damansara/kota damansara?planning for my 4th one;)

TDMC is quite good, except for the cafeteria. The cook has no semangat to cook, u can see in the food.

i delivered 2 times with dr ummul, first during her stay at salam, the second one at her clinic. she is good and gentle and caring, but i guess due to soo many patients, she can be quite kelamkabut at times. i reckon most of the patients wanted to see her,as unlike her, dr rafi is less ‘occupied’ dr niraj also not have many patient. im not sure wehther he is stil there
i’ve seen other gynae there, maybe that’s dr phia, who is as gentle. she was more concerned than myself when i was already 4cm dilated during my monthly checkup! dr rafi was quite ‘blunt’ – he’s doing his job i guess.

been to SMC (by choice, not recommended) when i was threatened to deliver early since umra does not have full facilities for preemie. seen dr tan boon kim because i tot will be better since he has fewer patients compared to the other lady doctors -dr siti (ye ke? not sure her name) and the other dr tan. but have bad experience at smc and dr tan himself. he was good and caring but somehow he tends to make me waited for him for no valid reason. he once melepak at the canteen!! and smc gave me bullshit excuse to cover for him!

My gynea is Dr. Subra. For every consultation + scan = rm50 . if got medication, only add around rm10 .. if you take their delivery package, every consulation n scan are free except for:
1st trimester scan = rm120
blood test to detect down syndrome = rm150

I went to see Dr. Dev Menon from Damansara Fertility Centre (now moved to Tropicana Medical Centre). 2 of my friends and I had difficulties in getting pregnant and went there for treatment. I was trying for 2 years. Found out that I had a growth and did laparoscopy to diagnose other problems and remove it. Pregnant after 1 month and my other 2 friends got pregnant within 3 months. Worth trying out there. In terms of pricing, they can be a bit steep but it is all worth it. Another friend is seeing Dr Pak for fertility treatment, and she is too lucky to conceive within 3 months. There Pusat Perubatan Naluri in Wangsa Maju. The 3D or normal antenatal checkup will cost around RM97 only.
The delivery charges for normal uncomplicated delivery will be RM 1300 for open ward but if want privacy can take single room RM1800. They even have package for 2D 1N for normal deliver RM1200.
So far the gyneo is OK, for me worth the money but waiting to see the gynea could be awhile laa

i gave birth to my daughter back in 2002 in Sunway Medical Centre, my gyane was Dr Nor Aini (A female doctor), I wanted a female doctor and there were not many in Malaysia. She’s very good though she was a bit moody at times, she’s very knowledgeable and experience, it was a good choice. I still go to her when I need to do my pap-smear. I remember I delivered my daughter via C-section in 2002, my cervix didn’t open even i went on drip, it was an emergency C-section, my daughter was heavy, she was 4.04kg. i had to stay at the hospital for 5days as i didn’t manage to pass wind, they didn’t discharge me bcos of that. the bill in total was RM6K+ but this was back in 2002 and i didn’t have complications except the emergency C-section and my daughter has mild jaundice but we insisted her to be discharged together with me as i was worried for the high medical bill, we let our daughter get the natural sunlight before 10am, she recovered within like 1/2days. choosing an experience gynae is very important, i heard jason from sunway is good too, his clinics will be very packed most of the times…
I like Dr Jeanne Woo. Unfortunately she is based in Gleneagles Intan, Jalan Ampang and I stay in PJ. I went to see her when I was 3 months pregnant till the 5th month. But, was worried about the distance. Then I switch to Dr Jason Lim from Sunway Med centre. I was a staff at this hospital. The reason I didn’t go to him in the first place was because I was looking for a female gynae. But, most of the Sunway staffs and my frens go to see him. He is a no nonsense kind of guy. He’ll let you know what u really need to know. It was fine with me because I thought that it is more important that he is cool and capable in time of emergency. Anyway, Dr Jeanne has addressed most of my concerns.
I actually visited a total of 4 gynaes up to now. I was most uncomfortable with my first gynae. She insisted to do pelvic ultrasound up to week 14. She refused to do a normal ultrasound even when I am 9 weeks pregnant (I was very angry cos she didn’t even try the abdominal ultrasound but forced me to do the pelvic one). So, I guess the most important thing for a pregnant woman is that you find the gynae that suits you most and don’t be afraid to try new gynaes if you are not satisfied with the one u r visiting.
I agree with Cheryl. A good gynae is a gynae you are most comfortable with and he/she is able to put you at ease.
Mother and doctor needs to have good chemistry. Giving birth is a highly emotional experience (more so) if it is a vaginal birth. You really need to get along with the gynae!

You’re welcome, Michelle. I’m not sure how ‘good’ he is but we heard he managed to help a friend’s friend – so that’s why we’re trying him out. I’ve met some other patients – some were successful and some are still trying under his treatment. But you have to be patient – because it takes time to work. I know some of them have been going to him for more than a year. I guess it depends on the severity of your problem.
Oh, thanks again Julie. I just visited there twice. And I told him what did my another gynae suggest me about the IUI or IVF. He seems not really encourage to do such treatment, coz it also will bring side effect. So now, I consuming his chinese medicine and go for checkup every week.

Yes, I did the HSG last yr. Have been seeing Dr. K for almost 3 mths. First 2 mths was seeing once a week for follow-up, scan and meds. Since 3 weeks ago, am going twice a week for follow-up, scans, meds and acupuncture.
Why did you have to do the lapa?
I done the lapa because I have a serious pelvic adhesion, which surrounding over the ovary area. I cant get conceive is because of the adhesion blockage . . But now already remove the adhesion, still not yet conceive after a year. Y doctor K do the acupuncture for you?? For what purpose?

Julie, i started treatment 4 a month b4 i went for HSG and then only i found out that my tubes are blocked. i continue treatments acupuncture and herbs a 4 2 months then went 4 laproscopy and it turned out that my right tube has been unblocked. then i continue with iui for two times and it was not successful but i conceived the following month naturally. my boy is 18 months old now. and the good news is i m expecting my 2nd baby now naturally too.don’t give up he is good

hi, my advise is please don’t go to dato’ dr. sivamohan for fertility treatment. yes he is a very good and gentle doctor but he is not an expert in fertility. you can go see him for pregnancy and delivery cases but NOT fertility as i have experienced myself. any fertility problems better go straight to fertility clinics like damansara fertility, hukm etc.

Recently i ve stain (brown) -and i admitted for 2 days for checked up and observation and i dont know wat is d actual caused? does anyone knows about Dr Damo in klang? I was referred by Dr Loo of Taman Desa Medical Centre to see Dr Patrick Chia (FMGC) at my 22 weeks. I had some complications with my second pregnancy.
To me, he is really good. He did a detailed scan on my fetous and he explained what was going on with my pregnancy.
He is a bit expensive. The consultation and the scan cost me RM 300.
I am thinking of going to him for my next pregnancy, but I did some search that he is now attached to Pantai Bangsar only? He used to be Sunway Medical before he moved his clinic. Plus I read (from other blogs) that he does only c-section. If normal, he will pass it to his colleague Dr. Yap to handle.

He is always referral by others gynae doctor if the gynae has diagnose that your pregnancy is in high risk group. Dr. Patrick Chia is also one of the advisor for the Medical Advisory Board of http://www.babycenter.com.my, a very useful and friendly website for pregnancy.
The 1st consultation is always RM300. For the subsequence, it will only cost RM80-90, if you take supplement, will be around RM140-160.00. I think this price is quite reasonable to get him as your gynae as he is very experience and furthermore he is specialist in high risk pregnancy. For normal gynae check up, it is also almost RM60-80 per visit already, right?
You can ask him whether he will do the normal delivery for you or not, as he is only do normal delivery on request.
Hi Julie, my baby was delivered by Dr. Patrick on January 09 via C-Sec because my cervix was unable to dilate even after induced. So, we have no choice but to go for last minute C-Sec. Dr. Patrick is supportive of normal delivery which was my first choice. Anyway, I am very happy with Dr. Patrick because he really is a very good gynae. Very professional and patient. He will take his time to answer any question unlike some gynae that will rush you through your consultation time. I would strongly recommend any pregnant mother, especially those with complication to see him. Btw, it was my friend whom recommend me Dr. Patrick and she also give him a THUMBS UP!

Anyway, it was very expensive.. because I choose to go through normal delivery but end up with a emergency C-Sec. Did went through induced and took epidural. It was a Saturday and I’m not sure if this add up to the cost too. Stayed there for 5D4N. I think Dr.Patrick charge me around RM3k plus.. for doctor’s fees. The rest is hospital fees. I need to go home and check the bill again. Oh btw, my sister in law saw Dr.Raman and delivered in Pantai Bangsar too. It was a C – Sec. Her bill came up to abt RM10k too.

I’m kind of miss him because he really took good care of me especially when I was in the hospital. Let me tell you part of the story. The second day after I delivered, I felt pain on my bladder when I pass urine. I thought it’s urine infection because I’m very prone to having urine infection. It was around 6 am! Gehh… my husband call Dr.Patrick and he answered! He told me to take a urine test and wait for him to come. He turn up around 7 plus in the morning.. and guess what’s the urine test result! It’s FALSE ALARM! Gosh.. i felt really embrassed and the reasons I felt the pain was because of the catherer (which I found out some time later).
He assured me that i’m fine and we apologize for troubling him. He said it’s fine and told us he was in the hospital to attend a case around 3am plus that day and when my husband call, he was just back to the bed. Hehe… felt bad about it! He is really kind. Cross my heart. When my bb developed jaundice the next few days, he drop by to see and talked to us. How kind and caring. So girls! Anyone up for a good gynea! He is definitely THE ONE!

yes, the FMGC clinic has moved to Jaya One. New clinic is of course larger than the old one, got waiting area with few rows of chairs and with TV, more comfortable coz not like the TTDI space limited and have to wait outside when clinic is pack and crowded no more sitting place.
oh, 5D4N also below 10k only, then should be reasonable

My EDD is on mid of Oct, but just went for check up last week found that now baby head still not engage (now 37weeks++), thus we planned for c-sec. Eventhough at 1st we really aim for natural birth but it seems like the condition (pelvis narrow) that i have not allowed me to do so. Instead of labour half way causing complication then emergency c-sec, Dr has advised us for c-sec. What to do? We have faith on him and of course will took his advise and we believe that’s will be the best opt for both my baby and myself.

I stayed in the deluxe room for one night coz there is no single room availabe that day. The next day only I moved into the single room. Btw, you can book earlier for single room. That’s what my husband found out later. Apparently we didn’t add in any bed for my husband. Kakaka.. He just borrow a lazy chair with a leg rest to sleep on. (those foldable one from the nurse) Poor him…
You are right abt those charges. If it’s an emergency C-Sec, it will cost more. I think plan ceasar will come out about RM8k. Actually when I look back, Dr.Patrick’s fees is not expensive. It was the hospital charges that is killing.. Well, abt the “extra” visit, Dr. Patrick is kind enough not to charge anything.. Heheheh.. I told you, he is really one of those rare doctors.
Btw, you can choose your own anesthetician from the list available in Pantai. Mine is Dr. .. I can’t remember his name. Let you know later. Need to check with my husband. Get your husband ready with a CAMCODER! Pantai Bangsar allow husband to go in the ops theatre. My hubby managed to film part of the delivery process. Gosh, luckily he did not faint. Dr. Patrick did ask my hubby to go nearer to see but he choose to stay by my side. Hehehe..

Let me share my experience in the Operation Theather. Hehe.. actually you can see what’s going on from the reflection of the spot light above you. The reflection is very clear. Kakak.. I’m scared, so i just face my husband most of the time.. but I did peep! Saw Dr.Patrick pull my baby out from my stomach! Geee… hehehe… a bit geli.. but a good experience! Will never forget that moment! Well, another not so plesant sight is the moment they clean your vagina after stiching you up! kakaka.. I’m not going to tell you now how he did it! Maybe you can ask him yourself! MUAHAHAHAH!!!!! Btw, it’s an SOP! My friend ceasar in SJMC also go through it and she also got a shock when she sees it! But don’t worry.. it aint gonna cost any pain!

I am in a way thankful for Dr. Loo of TDMC who referred me to Dr. Patrick Chia. You see I was seeing my gynae (who delievered my daugther) and when the first gynae told me that my amniotic fluid was low, he asked me to wait for another month to do a detailed scan.
I went for a second opinion with Dr Loo and she referred me to Dr Patrcik Chia.
My pregnancy complication was confirmed as Oligohydramnios by Dr. Patrick Chia. The embarassing part is when Dr. Patrick broke the news that there are no chances of my little boy surviving, I was crying like no body’s business in his room. That happened about a month ago. The day after my consultation with Dr. Patrick Chia, my pregnancy was terminated by medical reasons. I was 22 weeks pregnant then.
As a result of the above incident, I am very worried about my next pregnancy and if can, I want to make sure I have a good gynae. I am also very traumatised by the whole thing.
I agree that Dr. Patrick Chia is good and am asking around if he does consultation for normal pregnancies.
By the way, I went to a few bookshops to look for his book on “Is My Baby Normal?” Every where is out of stock

Hi, i’ve seen Dr Patrick for a while now. He is definitely a very careful doctor. I am a little concerned that he is not very decisive though. He can change his mind a 2-3 times in one conversation. Those who have been seeing him, can you comment? Other than that, he is a very patient and caring doctor.

Wish you get well soon. For the book, you can ask him from his clinic, i think he keep some there and you can buy from FMGC. I got the “is my pregnancy normal?” from the clinic.
Julie, advise to you is that to see Dr Patrick for your 2nd pregnancy too, since he is the one diagnosed your condition, but is he the one did the termination too?

pls see http://www.fmgc.com.my , call and make appointment. i think of course he will do normal check up. It is just that he is expert in high risk pregnancy and always being referred by other gynae. But finally you are the one to decide where to deliver and by which doctor, if all going well and normal pregnancy, just that whether you ok with changing gyane last minutes, which is not the one who always assess you to deliver your baby. If for me, definitely No-No for a doctor that never assess me.

Well, actually it wasnt choices for me. It was more like decisions on tests to be done. First he suggested to do a test in a week, then next thing, he changed it to a few times in the same week. I guess he was just thinking out loud on best thing to do, some people are like that.

You may try Dr Prashant (D’sara Heights) or Dr Mak (Kuchai Lama). Both handle fertility issues. They will start with some tests which are necessary so it might be a simple problem. However, if you’re required to do anything major, pls do get a 2nd opinion. All the best!

I am truly sad to read your post and I hope you are recovering well. I delivered my baby under Dr. Paul Tay and I find him very good and sensitive. Perhaps you can try him as he is a fertility speacialist, thus, have probably dealt with a lot of miscarriages cases and would be in a good position to advise you.
Just out of curiosity, at 19 weeks – is a d and c performed or do you have to go through a mini labour?

He is also at Assunta. The miscarriages that I hear about from my friends are normally very early miscarriages 4-5 weeks, not so advanced.
However, Dr. Tay did bring this subject up a while ago while I was deciding on the amnio test – that a mini labour was required if the couple decided to terminate the pregnancy and this info has stuck with me ever since – I thought it was very traumatic.
Anyway, whatever you went through is not easy and I cannot imagine how it must have been like for you.

After I took the medicine (vaginal & oral), it took abt 16 hrs for the water bag to burst and 3 hrs later, the bb came out. Every 5 mins contraction for 1 hr. Very painful only on one side of the abdomen. The side effect of the medicine – diarrhoe, fever & vomitting. The medicine is to induce miscarriage. It was a very sad & painful experience for me as I was seeing others given birth and cld here the bb crying. My room was juz nx to the labour room/ward. It has been almost a mth now and sometimes i cry when i think of the poor bb of mine. Still remember she was moving actively when i went for scanning at 17 weeks.
Hopefully i can hv a healthy bb in my nx pregnancy.

No, Dr. Patrick Chia did not do the termination for me. He gave a report and I went back to my first gynae who is attached with Pantai Cheras. I guess because Dr. Patrick Chia did not assess me. I had a mini labor too. The worst part, is when I admitted myself for the labor, the nurse asked me you want to deliver ah?
When my baby was delivered, the midwife simply say, ah your baby premature so this is consider abortion. Dr. Patrick Chia said that (and I did Internet reading) cannot determine the cause of Oligohydramnios.

I totally understand your feelings. I cried when the baby came.I took the oral medicine. The contraction came after 45 mins. The pain was unbearable. It was totally different from the pain when I delivered my daugther. I delivered my “2nd” baby at 5.25am and the midwife refuse to push me to my ward citing reasons that the gynae need to check me before I return. There was a mother delivering a baby next suite.
The baby started crying but my delivery suite was completely silent.
During the 4 hours wait in the suite for my gynae, not just the new born baby cries that depress me, the nurses at the station outside the delivery suite was talking about me. That I terminated the baby at 22 weeks, etc.
I still cry when I think of the whole incident.
But I must be strong for my 4 year old daugther and I pray hard that I will have a healthy pregnancy next one.
So sorry to hear about your miscarriages. It’s reassuring to know that we are not alone. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Although I had another child a year later, I still remember. I guess the pain never goes away.
Cause they see it so often that it’s a really normal thing for them. On top of telling you the ‘bad’ news, they also have to endure your tears and countless questions of ‘why?’. I found that reading and talking to others who have experienced it, is the best way to heal (eventually).
In my experience, when it comes to miscarriages, most obs are not sympathetic.
My obs is Dr Choong Kuo Hsiang from PMC, Bangsar. He’s great and both my husband and i are comfortable with him.

I actually find labour nurses rather annoying, They have a habit of discussing about you among each other IN FRONT of you. Like we don’t exist at all. And they bad mouth you outside the labour room, but they are so loud, that everyone, including you, can hear their nonsense.
I hope everyone here will get healthy pregnancies in the future. I always think God gave the responsibility of childbearing to women because only we are strong enough to endure all the ups and downs of a pregnancy!

We should wait for at least 3 months. My gynae said that it takes that long for the mommy’s body to “return” to its normal.

Yes, it was more like a “bitching” session for them. The bithcing session lasted 2 shifts for me. The midwife who handled me clocked off and the next one was still discussing about me. Outside, loudly.
The first widwife was classic. I knew the baby was coming already (experience from my first) and I told her. She claims that I have not dilate. When I asked her to check, she saw that I was ready, she was scrambling to prepare the surgical things.

What is ayurvedic? Did u conceive with IUI done? Since u can conceive normally, why u still need another one? PGD (pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis) is one of the procedure in IVF. The best embryos will be selected and examined for any chromosomal abnormalities before they r put back to uterus. We can hv gender selection too. But it is very expensive la. Ard RM30,000 – RM35,000 per cycle. Only available at Tropicana Medical ctr.

I’m currently seeing Dr. Fatima Najla in Kelana Jaya Medical Center – KJMC. This is my first baby and im due somtime end of december. so far everything is good. shes a very patient, kind and resourceful gynae. She keeps reminding me to watch my weight for fear of my baby being too big (my baby is currently big for her gestation age) for delivery and may cause me to have a c-sect instead. she encourages vaginal delivery and wnats the best for me for an easy delivery. anyhoo..I’ll keep u all posted on my delivery when the time comes. oh ya by theway her consultation charges are only abt rm50-70. plus pharmacy, medical procedures i.e injection normally the most expensive i hv to pay is abt rm250++. not too bad isn’t it? good luck mommies!
My partner and I have been trying for our first baby for over 4 years now and have yet to be successful. We have undergone several rounds of IVF and each time the embryo was rejected by my body. i am 34 weeks pregnant now.. when i was around 12 weeks pregnant, i actually went to UMRA maternity clinic in shah alam for my first scan.. d doctor there found 4 cyst next to my baby! she said that it was my fault for not doing an earlier check up before i got pregnant.. n theres nothing she can do to help! she told me that the cyst might break at any time as my baby grows bigger.. n when that happen, they would have to operate on me n ‘clean up’ the cyst n the baby too! i felt so hopeless.. lucky me, my husband then brought me to another doctor.. dr delilah from sjmc.. we went to her clinic though… she is so supportive n optimistic.. she scheduled me for a laparoscopic operation at 14 weeks to remove the cyst.. (she found only 2 cyst nway..) i fully recover in only 4 weeks time n my baby is doing great! i couldnt be more thankful to her for doing such a great.. dr delilah could be a lil bit expensive compared to other doctors but it surely worth every penny knowing that ure on a good hands.. she would make u feel safe n secure somehow.. trust me!

hi everyone.. i would like to share one information..i delivered a baby boy at assunta hospital on 27th jan 2010.. i was consulting Dr.menon.. i would say its da best service which i got from der.. both da doc and da nurse r so caring..i would give a rating of 100/100 for their service..i got discharged 1.5days after my delivery.
i opted for a single room.. the total cost came upto 4500RM.. but trust me.. it was totally a gud experience..Dr.menon is also too gud
it was nornal delivery(epidural).. but had to use vaccum extraction to take da baby out

This is my first pregnancy and went to see Dr Delaila’s at her clinic at SS2 on my 8th week. She explains to you your pregnancy in details and will advise you of what not to eat and what not to do … charged me a total amount of RM180 – ultrasound(RM70), CD-with video/image clips(RM20), Consultation(RM70) and Folic Acid(RM20). Am 12 weeks now and goin’ to see her again this weekend.

This is a very informative blog! I am currently contemplating between Dr Fatimah (An-Nur Specialist Hosp in Bangi – ex. APSH and HUKM) with Dr Delaila (SDMC) and a good female Gynae in Pantai MC Bangsar. I have a recommendation on Dr Marsita from Pantai, so has anyone seen any of the below?
I stay in Ampang but I refuse to go to Ampg Puteri, as I think their service is “cap ayam” and also not Gleneagles as I am looking for a female muslim gynae.

Not sure if it’s too late to give u my 2 sens worth. Been with Dr. G for the last 10yrs. He is really good. Been thru 2 pregnancies and 1 miscarriage with him. Becoz my 1st child was born pre-mature @ 34wks. He has closely monitored me when i had my 2nd child after 8 yrs and becoz of that we have manage to stop my pre-term labour @ wk 30. He is good at explaining every single little details/concerns that you might have. Everytime a friend ask me who is my gynae i am so proud to recommend him. Might be slightly expensive but he is worth it.

This is a gr8 sharing column! I have been married for 4 years and still trying. I have had miscarriages however later was diagnosed with endometriosis by Dr Hamit Arshad. He is a good doctor however as he wanted to do surgery, me and hubby decided to look for 2nd opinion, which landed me with Dr Nora who has a 6-months treatment program.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND DR NORA. She will be very nice to you, spending an hour to discuss pros and cons of my problem, but once I decided to undergo treatment, she only see me for 5 minutes! And attended to me 3 sessions, while the rest, she sent a replacement. One of her replacement doctor suggested Reductil to lose some weight,and I took it. Later Dr Nora questioned me why I took it. Like DUH – same clinic, but they dont even know you well.
I finished the treatment 2 months ago and til now, no luck in getting pregnant. I find her more “business minded” than actually wanting to help you get pregnant.
So now, thanks to u girls, I have some doctors in mind to go for follow up advice

Our Marraige held on 1-Dec-08 and immediately we planned for Baby ( We were in India that time) but after 2 onths doctors told us the Baby health is not good so he/she is not growing than we forced to aborted the child March 2009. After i gone through the Stone operation in Jan 2010. Doctor advised us not to plan baby next 3 month u ntill stiches get heal. Now again we tried for Baby last month and i didn’t get positive result while checked on 24th Morning. My period cycle is 20th of every month which was not come as per routine. It came on 24th April. I’ve signed up for the lowest antenatal package with all in is RM1088(throughout the pregnancy)which I feel is sufficient for my needs. As for my delivery will be around RM2100.Poor Ana!i can imagine all the waiting.I have severe morning sickness and I am glad that my gynae always sees me promptly in less than half an hour when I have an appointment.Sometimes I go at night also and its not that bad.

i just wanted to share my experience. i had an ectopic pregnancy in 2006 and surgery was done by a gynae at SJMC (now SDMC). in 2007, i had a miscarriage a 6 weeks because baby’s heartbeat stopped. i had a natural miscarriage but still went for D&C. this was by dr. paul tay previously at University Hospital. in 2008, dr. paul tay (now with prince court medical centre) delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 3.38 kgs. in february 2010, i again had a natural miscarriage at 12 weeks. baby didn’t have a heartbeat since the beginning. dr. paul gave me a choice between a D&C and natural miscarriage and i chose the latter. and that is what i like about him that he gives me choices and is understanding. he also answers all my queries on the phone, sms or e-mail and trust me, i had lots of questions for him. he mentioned to me that i could go for tests but it would be a waste of money because i already have a healthy baby boy. and i now leave it to God. but, if you need questions answered and an understanding gynae, i’ll recommend you to see dr. paul tay. i’ve recommended many friends to him and they’ve all got good feedbacks about him.

Dr Delilah schedule at her clinic is at this hours – Saturday 3:00pm to 5:00pm, then 9:00pm-11:00pm, Sunday – 9:00am-1:00pm i guess, Monday to Friday not sure as i used to go there on weekend. anyway, i did when to dr delaila 2-3 times but CLOSED. so, just back from DR SHARAD’S CLINIC, SS 15.. seriuosly, he is VERY VERY VERY good, gentle..nice… He will explain to u one by one… He’s the best!! Me n hubby like him so much… just paid for RM 150 for 1st scan + consultation… some vitamin.
I now see Dr Marsita from Pantai and I think she’s fantastic. She’s very warm and makes it very easy for you to tell anything and ask anything to her. She’s highly recommended
I tried Dr Guna of Damansara Specialist for my 3rd child. My other 2 were normal delivery. Dr. Guna insisted I should have a caesarian and to go on epidural which cost me about RM12,000 in total. DSH is definitely a TOTAL RIP OFF. I now wee Dato Dr Sivamohan at DSH for check ups etc and would confirm that he is SO MUCH BETTER. Pricey but worth the money.
I delivered my baby in SDMC,subang Jaya with Dr,Siti Zaleha in 2009. She’s quite bz,with long queue for monthly check up. and I heard, some say,Dr.Delaila is more expensive than her charge.
For second child,maybe i still choose dr.siti to be my gynae.

hi, from my experience QHC is not a good place for me. The epidural was given to me by an outside doc. He claim that his wife also took two time epi. for twice of the pregnancy but no side effect. But for me it really make me feel dizzy and backache till now! Then when its time for my delivery this dr ng is like when to have his dinner and my baby is already struggling to come out. Then the more bad part is when after my delivery for about two hour the indian nurse brought me to the washroom to sit on salt water, the nurse just leave me there and then i faint in the washroom for dont know how long. I feel like suing this QHC For their negligence. Hmmf..

I just had an appointment with Dr. Patrick Chia today. Had a sonogram at 8 weeks. So far, the baby looks fine and healthy. I just couldn’t wait to pass at least 12 weeks so I could breath easily. I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks last December and now that I’m pregnant again, I just couldn’t relax at all just yet. As for Dr. Patrick Chia, I think he is really professional and I’m trusting him..
Dr Guna of DSH is definitely expensive. His charges can be unbelievable. I am looking for a new gynea.
Am currently seeing doctor Delaila (at SS19) for my monthly check up and am already 30 weeks now but hubby don’t want me to deliver under her as she is too expensive and she is most likely more on ceasarian so now looking for a good gyne who is pro-natural. i have visited dr delaila last sat night at her clinic in ss19. It costs me rm140 for nothing. Just upfront rm 20, rm 60 ultrasound and rm 60 for consultation fee! Now who says she doesnt charge consultation fees?!! Plus i did not took her medication. Its just the scan and some talking! And she did not carry out urine test and blood pressure test and other oral test that she supposed to give. Its so so expensive even w/o medi!!! Right. The first one, that was last year I just bled, I think I was just 6 weeks then. I’ve thought I didn’t need to have a D and C, unfortunately, there were still pregnancy tissues left so I had to had one. Them, I got pregnant after 6 months and it was a blighted ovum. Had a D and C again. The last one was in December, I’ve thought it was going to be fine because we were able to see the baby’s heartbeat at 8 weeks. I was scheduled to to see my gyne for a month then I had some brown spotting. When I had my appointment, the doctor wasn’t able to hear the baby’s heartbeat via doppler so I had a sonogram and then we found out the baby just died. Again, I had D and C for the third time. It was devastating to me and to my husband so we decided not to try again and will be opting for an adoption, accidentally I got pregnant after 5 months. Now, I’m seeing Dr. Chia, had a sonogram just last week and we saw the baby’s heartbeat at 8 weeks and everything is fine. I don’t want to get my hopes up coz all my miscarriages happened all before 12 weeks so I’m not still at ease. I will have a sonogram again this coming Tuesday to see if everything is fine. I don’t know why am I feeling like this but I don’t feel excited just like I was before. Dr. Chia prescribed Duphaston, that’s for ten days twice a day. My husband and I just are keeping our fingers crossed for this one and hopefully it will progress well. Everyday, every time I pee I would check myself if there’s some spotting. I’m so paranoid and scared to death..

Just to let you know, don’t worry too much as you are in good hand. Dr. Patrick is very experience in high risk pregnancy and complicated case. A lot of gynae also refer their patient with complicated case to Dr.Patrick.

Thanks for the concern. I just had my 2nd check up with Dr. Patrick this morning. The baby looks very fine and and we saw it moving! Amazing! So far so good.. I hope this pregnancy will goes well. We’d never imagined how pricey it is to have a complicated pregnancy! Not to mention such frequent check ups and sonograms. It’s all worthy after all. I’m really comfortable with Dr. Chia for he is such a supportive gyne and really uplifting with his positive words and encouragement.

Thanks for your information. When i had my first baby i was struggling looking for complicated pregnancy Dr. Now i am trying for second one, i still hunger for the good result. I feel sad each time when the good result didnt comes. I actually staying in oversea , only go back to KL sometime and for delivery, my house is at Cheras, from Cheras to PJ for delivery maybe its too far. I wish Dr Patrick will has weekly or daily consultant in one of the hospital near to KL one day in the near future.

i went to dr D of SDMC when I had threatened miscarriage on a GL (which means company shall pay for 3 consecutive visits per doc’s report). However, we got to know that Dr D had reported to the insurance agency that we came for normal check up and had to individually pay for the check ups. I’m very upset about this and due to this, we have used up all 2x free check up which we plan to use later on in the pregnancy.
Therefore, i do not recommend dr D of SDMC as i find her unfriendly and her charges are expensive. just my opinion.

and she made me feel like she is not those money face doctors..very humble and makes u feel at ease!

Yes, Dr Tang Boon Nee is very good! She is a very patient and friendly gynae. She will treat you like a friend and willing to listen to you although sometimes you chat something not related to your pregnancy. I got few friends also under her care, all give positive comment about her. My 2nd son is delivered by her. She can ease my tense during the labour process. Some more she is a female gynae, so i feel very comfortable with her
One more thing to add for Dr Tang, she always asked me to hide the bb scan she printed for me, so nurse won’t charge me for that printed scan
She won’t push to you buy anything extra.
I’d recommend Dr Zamri, O&G specialist at Darul Ehsan Medical Centre (they’ve moved to a new building in Section 14 Shah Alam) went to him for my first pregnancy and delivery and also for this 2nd one
as recommended by my mother-in-law.

I was told my Dr Tang’s nurse that it is about rm4k+ for natural without epidural and with epidural must add rm1k. If planned caesarean it is rm7k where else an emergency caesarean is rm9k…does it include baby charges? Oh yes, the prices i state are for 3d2n in single room…will being in double bedded room be much cheaper?

Clovey, the best person can advise you is your gynae. I had miscarriage few years ago. My gynae told me it’s better to wait for 2 – 3 period cycle for trying to get pregnant again. Btw, some doctor told me that it’s easy to get conceive after having D&C, so it’s a good time to get conceived actually if all the while you are having problem to conceive. Some chinese said miscarriage is similar to labour process, so you have to go through a minor confinement for recovery. So irregular period is common after D&C. But you might already pregnant since you got no period yet! No period doesn’t mean you cannot conceive. Please consult your gynae.

May I know which hospital n gynae did ur d&c? It won affect ur health as long as it was done by professional. Give yourself sometimes. The more u worried the longer ur period is delayed. Period sometimes is affected by our mood
but if u really worry u can consult ur gynae to have peace of mind.

Its not true when you assume you will not get pregnant again. I had a miscarriage in November last year and got my first period after nearly 60 days delayed from the normal cycle.. Like you, I was concious about my health too. I went to a normal doctor 2x just to get their opinions. And both told me the same thing: that the d&c would make our hormones go haywire. Some people gets affected by this, some do not. Some even worse, up to 3 – 6 months of no mensus after d&c.
One factor contributing to this is the depth of our uterus lining which was being scrapped off from the uterus when the placenta was removed. May I know how far along were you when you found out that you had a m/c?
Just for the records and to make u feel better, I am now 17 weeks pregnant, after 3 cycles of mensus. We didn’t plan for it but was hoping for it to happen earlier than 3x mensus cycle. So, u can relax and keep your fingers crossed.
I agree with Kmlovebb. You should relax and it will come naturally. But you can always follow up a check with the obgyn that did the d&c procedure (of which I am curious to know where u did the d&c too).. I wish you luck..! Do let us know if you find out of anything.

i was founf i pregnant on 1st week of May by urine check,(but the line very blur)so i went toclinic to do the blood test n the doc told me the text was pos,n is in early stage tis is y the line was blue,2days aft,i went to my gynae,n we did the ultrosound,but cldn c anything,n my gynae suspect i was ectopic pregnancy,(she put her finger inside n founf that my left womb a bit swelling)she said she worry n suspect,cos she hv been fool b4.i did my blood test again n go back to my gynae 2 day aft,the blood teat shown i pregnant,but the HGS quite low,my gynae admmitted me to observe for 48hrs,n did the blood test,on that day my blood test shld b 1200,but i only get 1100,so doc said is not a big diff,n discharged me,n ask told me i’ve do the BT every 48hrs,doc said the next 48hrs,ur HGSteat must be 1800,but the result i get was 1500….n at the same time,we did the scan(from below)we stil cnt c anything,til June,i told doc i dun 1 to do any bt,just do a normal scan,n finaly we saw a very tine black shadow.(its only 0.7mm)2wk++ aft the shadow was 1.7mm,n on 11 June,i started bleed,just a sotting,(doc told me b4,n she d suspected, she is muslim,she wont do any abortion since the shadow stil got life,altho we stil cldn c any heartbeat)i went to doc on 14 june,itold her i’ve bleeding 4days d,she said tis is mis carriage sign,(i just take it easy,got mentaly ready)at the same day at nite,i felt stomach claim n the blood clot flew out.my hubby send me to A&E,n i saw a white tissue……the next day i saw a piece of red color tissue…..(like oyster shape??)i did my d&c ard 1 wk aft.

I have had 3 miscarriages in my life and the last 2 in 2006 , two of them I have to go through D & C. Actually when you have D & C the doctor will ask you to comeback for a follow up check and will give you a pill to to have your menses back.
Trying to get preggy after a few miscarriages is not easy but just keep on trying and keep a positive mind always. Am now preggy (1st baby) and due soon already in my nearly 40’s finally made it after trying for 3 years. BUT prior to getting pregnant (6 months before I got preggy) I gave up drinking whatever kind of Chinese teas, coffee’s and also I avoided those with caffeine and had myself dose of folic acid and I eat eggplant almost everyday (yes eggplant if u have fertility problem it helps a lot).

hi mimi, dr tang boon nee charges is quite high. and according most of my friends that visited sjmc(sdmc), they paid a whopping close to 10k and some 12k for the intentions of normal delivery but cervix didn’t dilate, they were forced to go with caeserean. if you have the money, sjmc(sdmc) has top doctors but like i said, they are never cheap and one of the most expensive private hospital for delivery.
Good gynea in Assunta Hospital is Dr. Liew Fah Onn. He is a very experienced gynae. He’s takes the time to explain things to their patients & make them feel comfortable & shows his care & concern about her patients.
He saved my life, I appreciates his guidance & care’s.
Charges in Assunta are quite reasonable. The service is good. Doctors & nurses are very friendly & caring.

i can imagine how you feel coming from a foreign land and having to find your way. I also just came to Malaysia when I had my first baby. I am sure all will work out well for you. Choosing a gynae is a very personal choice. To me most important is comfortable and trust. you can try Dr Sharad, he is in SS15 Subang Jaya. Charges are very reasonable and he is really a caring and supportive gynae compared to the 1st gynae I’ve had.Hope its give you an alternative choice. You can also join some women’s association and support group. i know of a playgroup in Bangsar and one in subang jaya if u r interested. There are a mixture of new mums with young babies and some older chilren and they meet once a week. all the best to your move…

Pantai Bangsar has a lot of gynaes available to suit your preference. If you prefer a female gynae, i’d recommend Dr Marsita Mansor. She is very friendly and makes you feel at ease at all times. She’s very motherly and you can ask her any questions regarding your pregnancy without feeling embarassed / uncomfortable. I go to her for my monthly check up and in between check ups, I can even call her on her mobile to get advices.

There is a Muslim Female Gynae in Sunway Medical Centre (Private Hospital), Dr. Nor’ Aini. Lots of Muslim patients (other races as well) and Sunway Medical staffs go to her. My friends who delivered under her said her charges were reasonable. I myself delivered in sunway medical but under a male gynae.

I though she is a good doctor, never know that because of her careless @ lazy.
To her maybe my case is a small matter so she doesn’t really serious into it.
Now, I can’t pregnant anymore.
I’m having irregular periods + heavy period, I went to see her. She check thru ultra sound and give me some pills to cycle back my period. I ask her how to adjust back to normal period? She told me, once you have sex life or after birth. Your period will be normal.
After 6 visit, she told me no need to do any follow up. I ask her, if the problem comes back again. What should I do? She tell me just take that medicine and it will back to normal. No worry. I ask do I need to do any test or yearly check-up. She says no need.
My period was not cure, whenever I having heavy period. I will go to pharmacy to buy the medicine. My night mare begun, my heavy period comes non stop. Every 2hours need to change.
I go to see another gynae, he read thru my record and he shakes his head. Why Dr Idore did not do any test for you? He immediately do the test for me and found out that I have a tumor in my uterus.
I cry out. The Dr told me I need to remove it ASAP. I rejected because I want baby. Once I remove I can’t pregnant.
I check with a few gynae doctors, they suggest me remove it ASAP. I already remove it I was so sad.

I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and went to see Dr Patrick Chia after going through all the good recommendations here. He seemed nice, did an ultrasound and showed us the baby and told us it looks fine. Apart from that, didn’t say or ask much. Before we were leaving, he asked me which book I was reading and recommended I should buy a copy of his book, which was a bit awkward.
Anyway, I am going to see him again next weekend. And after going through all the messages here again, I’m a bit concerned whether for delivery, he only does C-sec or not. Has anyone here had normal delivery by him? Does he support normal deliveries and are present during the delivery? Or does he always recommends C-sec? Or refers to some other doctor for normal delivery? I really would like to stick to one doctor throughout my pregnancy and really need more info on him so I can decide at an earlier stage.

I went to see Dr. Patrick Chia last Friday. I tried for 6 months but not successful. I was worried bcos I had an abortion at 5.5months last year. I thought that it will effect my next pregnancy. He was very consultative and willing to spend time to teach on how to count fertility days and scanning. Of course his fees are pricey but I feel he is very experience.
On his books, you can never buy it outside as I have tried many book stores. If you don’t feel like buying, then don’t. At the end of the day, he is also an enterprenuer, right? heheheh
You should try Dr Sivamohan from Damansara Specialist Hospital. He is fantastic and able to give good advice. My check up to delivery was done and taken care of superbly.
yup.. i go for checkup with dr sivamohan also for 3 times..his service n advice is very worth the money paid.. but then i had to go to tawakal.. because my house is at jalan kuching.. hehe.. my gynae in tawakal is dr jaafar yaakub.. he is also good gynae..
I would strongly recommend Dr Susana Huam from Damansara Specialist Centre. Dr Guna is great too. would never recommend Dr Marsita from Pantai Bangsar…….. Bad experience with her…scrary

dear clovey. tks i am much better now. i even went to see the ceos and they waive my room charges and aplogize. but the dr just kept quiet and act innocent. i pray a lot and i leave everything to GOD. may one day she realize her mistake. the sad part dr marsita will never admit her mistake. her ego is damn big and hiding under her veil. i would never recommend her. the funny part god tested her in everway. her house was hit by landslide, her daughter was having bad back and have to be operated, her mother in law house in kelantan was burned down and yet she never realize her mistake. i think all her earning are not halal and berkat that is why she is getting all this. i hope one day god will guide her back.

i always beleive what goes around comes around.i only don’t want other people to become victim. i was very sad and down initially but i force myself to accept and slowly i am ok. the power of prayers really help. when the first time dr marsita told me i need to remove my uterus i was confused and the way she sounded was so srious as if i am going to die immediately. i went to see 2 other doctors and they told me not to remove it. she was so convincing and i trusted her….god pls help her..after the operation all the truth came out and she wash her hands clean refusing to acknowledge her mistake. she even refuse to answer my calls!!!i pray one day she will realize…

hi abc, sorry of the typo error. Dr aziz is good and professional, he is not very friendly but he answers your questions directly. Jean Woo is very professional and straight to the point.She is good. I would relay recommend DR Aziz (Gleangles), Dr Jean Woo (Geleanagles) and also DR Susana Huam (Damansara Specialist). They are professional and yet good human beings. At present I am seeing Dr Susana.
Hello, 1st Time Mum, maybe you sholud try Dr Susana. She is good. Answers yr questions well. You don’t have to be buddy buddy with yr gyne. It is good to have professional relationship with them and not friendly cos end of the day you are paying their salary after all. I learn my lesson very well. Dr marsita was so motherly and pretend to be caring…and everything else…in the end i am the victim. But i am glad i am no longer her patient. tq god..for everything.

Hi, im pregnant for the 2nd time and planning to deliver at HUKM(PPUKM) just like the first one.
For me, why I choose semi private because they have the hospital facilities, blood bank, ICU, ambulance service, good nurses too.
I paid RM570 for the first delivery (without epidural, penthadene or ethonox) and stayed one night there. During my first labour, the doctor, midwives & nurses are very encouraging and help you during labour. the best part is, my husband can also stand next to me.
the next morning, the nurse taught you how to bathe your baby. but i think they are not practising it anymore (according to my friends). but anyway, i will go to PPUKM for my next delivery based on my first experience.
Plus, they will ’see’ how you breastfeed your baby to ensure our baby will drink our milk…
oh yeah, i met Dr Jaafar at tawakal hospital too and i think he is very gentle, smooth and asked my husband to also participate during scanning my baby….
dr jaafar is good. his wife is my company’s panel doctor. she is nice. quite a number of my company staff’s sees him

i delivered my first baby at UKMSC in 2008. Under Prof Hatta. I am thankful that he is my gynae at that point of time.He is caring, gentle, and knowledgeable. Gives good advices before and after delivery. paid around 2k++ plus for a single room, epidural and forcep due to feotal distress.

Hi there, i just got back from my 2nd visit with Dc Dato’ Sivamohan of Damansara Specialist.
my husband and i trying to get our 1st baby after a year been married. We been together since 2007 and i never get pregnant.
During mu 1st visit Dc Siva given me a pills to be taken after 2nd days of my coming period and asking us to come again on day-12
Today is my 2nd visit. Roughly he inserted some kind of stick into my vagina to detect the egg followed by an injection at my stomach
I wonder if anyone here had experience with doc Siva as i am not comfortable with male doctor. I went to him after being advised by 2good friends who had good result after seeing him.
He’s profesional, warm & gentle so far but i just not comfortable with male doc and was thinking to look for female doc of ideally muslim female doctor.
Any advise?

Dr Siva is my gynae. He is good and very knowledgeable. I feel very safe with him and have made several references to him and thus far has been positive. I am not very pro female gynae coz I find them rather rough. But that is my opinion. YOu should just find a good doctor and make sure you are comfortable with them.
If you have doubts pls ask Dr Siva he will explain in details for you.

Hello Ah-Girl.m much better now. dr marsita diagnosed me as having adenomyosis…..on the spot!!after doing a vaginal scan on me. but after the operation she told there was thickening lining in my uterus…i have no pian at all, but she insist that i should remove my uterus. i really wish i had listen to other experts…the best part doctor marsita is racist. she told me in long term i might need a lot of blood transfusion and imagin if get blood donation from other races…dr marsita make quick judgment and she is not professional at all. she is irresponsible and covers her act well with religion…..

the most important thing is the gyne is able to answer yr questions. male gyne are more gentle and understand you better. i see dr aziz from prince court. the fees are more or less the same with other gyne. i have heard dr siva is very professional and good. just be frank and ask yr dr anything that you want. i have heard horror stories about dr marsita as well. one of my colleague had bad experience with her.

Hi Everyone,
I am seeing Dr Delaila now. In fact, I just met her 2 days ago to confirm my pregnancy.
I actually met Dr Delaila for the first time when I had stomach pain for months. She then diagnosed me with Ovarian Cyst. She did the surgery for me in May via laproscopy. At the same time she checked my whole productive system. The next day when she visited me in the ward, she explained the findings of the surgery and also informed me that one of my fallopian tubes was swollen. She recommended that I go for ‘flushing’ procedure 3x/once a week after the surgery. She did the procedure very well, as I felt very little pain. Upon completion of the procedure, I was sent for HSG x-ray to assess my condition. My tubes were cleared! I was so relived.
All these was done under my company insurance coverage in SJMC. She was kind enough to include the medicine in the hospitalization bill.
Two days ago, I saw her at her clinic in SS19. And when I opened the door, the first thing she said as I walked in with my husband was, ” Are you pregnant?” She was very happy for us and I am so glad to have such a caring and assuring doctor.
For those who are thinking to see her, I would recommend to go for it! I think she is very thorough and explains things very well. I always ask questions whenever I am in doubt and she answers all of them.
She actually delivered my sis-in-law’s first baby (2007) when Dr Siti ’suddenly’ went for vacation. (she did not even inform my sis in law).
My two other cousins are also seeing her for their pregnancies.

Already gone my first trial (by pills taken on 2nd day of period followed by injection on day 12..) unfortunately i just got my period as usual on 18th (on the exact 28th)

has anyone heard of PJ Women Specialist & Family Clinic in SS2? My friend went to see this gynae for check-up before her marriage. She was very worried when the gynae told her she has a big fibroid. She said the Dr spent almost one hour to explain her problems and advised her not to do surgery at this moment but scan again 2 months later. She said the Dr is very patient and sincere. She recommended me to see this Dr for regular antenatal check-up. Anyone has experience with him? Is the charges RM270 for first time consultation, ultrasound for breasts and uterus, pap smear and blood tests reasonable?

sam, make sure you find a good gyne..try dr nora of primanora..she is good & experienced. a lit bit pricey but very professional.
just to share i had bad experience with dr marsita of pantai as well. i agreed with neena & sheeda. dr marsita is 1 lousy doctor. a few of my friends also was cheated as well. she will smile, and potray a good muslim image but that is all an act…i agree with the rest…she will give her handphone number and was there are any problem..she will be the first 1 to run. one of my collegue who happened to hold a very senior postion was her patient.dr marsita conducted an operation on her and till today she suffer. she was no longer the same person everbody use to know. she is a very nice person, she went in to depression after the operation. i really pity her. at present she is seeing a therapist and she is lucky cos she is very rich and can afford to fly to us for her further treament. dr marsita even refused to answer her phone calls.
sam, make sure do survey in order to see a good doctor. i would recommend you to see dr jean woo of gleanagle or Dr susanna huam from Damansara specialist. a collegue of mine had real bad experience with dr marsita of pantai hospital. My friend was sucessful, honest and friendly. she undergo an operation and she was totally a diffrent person after the operation. she went into depression and till today she suffers. dr marsita won’t admit her mistake. however my friend is lucky as she comes from a rich family…and can afford to fly to usa for further treatment. you can still see the sadness in her eyes and the suffering she is going through. but the sad part she lost her faith in the religion as she was badly traumatised with what she she have gone tru.i hope one day she will be ok again.

Hi..I delivered my 2babies at KJMC with Doc Fatima Najla.She was very good & expereience doctor.Never let patient choose to C-section.Always give us the confident to deliver normal.My 1st baby delivered 2004 overdue 8 days with 3.85kg(normal delivery).She used vacum coz I bit tired & no energy to push.2nd baby induced 2 weekks earlier due to avoid big baby again normal with weight 3.1kg & delivered within 2 hours 15 minute.Eventhough very painful coz of induced but lucky delivered within 2 hours only.Overall I think she is a very caring,patient & expereience doctor.But I heard the charges increase now.

I have PCOS and uterus inverted. Thank God, I’m conceived and 6 weeks pregnant now (1st baby). The problem is, I have early pregnancy bleeding for almost 5 days now..and period-like pain on and off…I’ve consulted my obys-gyn what cause the bleeding. He advised that is common and normal. Scan being done and my foetus is showing a good sign, growing and no sign of abnormalities…Any moms facing the same problem as me and what i should do to overcome this fear or any idea to stop this? Everytime when i saw bleeding (fresh blood) on my pad, I’m so worried that I’m gonna miscarriage. I will then immediately go see doc but this cant last long cause dc said bb doing fine and asked to go back the following week for check up. But during the waiting time (1 week) and with the bleeding on going, I really scared that something is doing not right at times. Pls advise.

Hv been seeing Dr. Kamal Kuek, Dr. Wong from Pantai but still no good news. I went to see Dr. Mak (Kuchai Lama) and was advised to do IVF (last resources). well dr marsita was asked to leave pantai hospital & hospital pusrawi and primanora she is full of nonsense. she will act as if she is nice but in reality she is a fraud. she will run away the moment she encounter problem. she gave her hp number that is 0192131997 to all the patients but she wonn’t answer it. i had damn bad experience with her and i will never forgive her.

I have visited a normal klinik @ d’sara perdana, but, unluckily…its jz a normal klinik without proper gynea.
I am trying to look fora good gynea as i am about 11weeks. Any good comments? Preferable chinese/female-around PJ-Damansara. I myself after see this website is comparing for DR.Tang Boon Nee-SJMC and Dr Patrick Chia(Jaya One).

Hi aisyah, what actually happened to you that made you really angry with dr marsita? Did she performed any operation on you and it went wrong? Please advice as currently she’s my gynae and she will deliver my baby for me next month by way of scheduled c-section. I really need to know. tqvm

i was having bad bleeding like twice a month. i went to pantai. dr marsita was so nice in the beginning. she did laproscopy on me. she doesn’t beleive in giving me medication. after 2 days she send me home. i was bleeding badly and i call her like 5 times…but as usual she won’t answer. my husbnad took me to another hospital and i was admiited and they have to a d& c and the doctors was shocked to see what dr marsita had done. i spoke to th eceo and had wanted to take legal action. in the end i heard that she was ask to leave pantai, primanora and also pusrawi. at prresent she is practising in gombak medical centre. she is full of lies, very orthodox thinking and very racist. she will act as if she is innocent and act religious. if i were you i would find another doctor. a number of my friends went tru the same thing and all of them regret trusting her.
since you guys are on this topic let me tell you something.on 11 june 2009 my boss was diagnosed as having adenomyosis by dr marsita at primanora. my boss trusted her and went tru the operation and after the operation the patology report came back and that was nothing wrong with my boss. she brainwash my boss to the maximum with all her stupid religion belief. my boss suffered to the maximum. my boss happened to hold a very senior position in an investment bank in bukit damansara. till today she is seeing a therapist and you should see how she suffer. she went to perform umrah last year and guess what dr marsita said that the money that she use is haraam!!!!dr marsita is one wierd character…her thinking is very kolot, kuno and terrible. i just want to know if dr masrita was doing halal money why was her house involved in laandslide, mother in law house was burned down and her daughter have to have a back operation???? is her money halal then??? dr marsita just want money that is why everything she will suggest operation……dr marsita contract in pantai, primanora & pusrawi was terminated. now she got to work in a small hospital……….cos i doubt any hopsital will take her in.i would suggest you do the isthikarah prayers in the event you still want to use her. if you encounter any problem…dr marsita won’t even answer yr call. she will give u thousand of excuses…she is a sweet talker, act very well and will use the religion as an excuse. you can ask her what happened to my boss and she will give you a beautiful big lie. she will give you holy water instead of medication. i pray one day my boss will be ok again….cos she is a very good person who got conned bt a religious doctor that is dr marsita…………
