Posted by admin on Nov 3, 2008

Posted by Loosing Maid :-

Sent my maid back for a holiday back to Indonesia last month for a Raya break…..we breathed a sigh of relief when we saw her again at the airport 2 weeks later. We were really glad she came back. Glad cos she isgood help. It has been 1 month since she returned and we recently found out that she is pregnant! AIYO!! what should we do now? Any ideas & tips?

I dun look forward to having to go through the entire process again of hiring a new one & Orientating her……..SIGH

1) Send her back to her country
2) let her work till she is 7month

3) Any good agencies to recommend?

what? how? I just renewed her work permit! sigh sigh…..

Geee, that must be a real hard decision to make. It is never easy to get a good and trustable maid. Good Luck..

Contact the agency, they’ll know what to do. They probably have plenty of problems like this around to handle.

Hi, i have similar problem too last time. This seems to be a tactic of them to want to return home right after they come back from their home country. Maybe the regretted that they extended the agreement.

You may want to confirm that she is really pregnant by asking her to do a test in your precense. Vomit and tired all the time can be easilly faked. Be careful.

If she is really pregnant. Then you may want to contact your agent for the best advice.

thanks for all your feed back. I did the urine test together with her. This really confirms her pregnancy. Sigh…..I feeel cheated la. Also feel for the maid also la cos her life is in quite a mess. Agency said to just send her back. Is it true that we need to deport them? hmmmm…next time maids go home for holiday give them a box of condoms to go!

You have to send her back. The contract says so. Have a read. Even if it doesn’t, it’s only best for you to send her back. You don’t want to be plagued with her medical problems if she’s not having a smooth pregnancy. I’ve encountered this problem twice and I sent them back. When the second maid got pregnant after 1.5 years, I tried to wait until she ended her contract. But I ended up taking her to the gynae for a few visits because she had bleeding.

Last few years, with help from relative that always go to Indonesia, me and my brother-in-law do everything ourselves to get a maid. Even before really hired her, my relative ask the maid to come over for 1 month using visitor passport to his house for a trial run. I even drive to jeti at Johor to pick her up. total cost only RM2700 + RM400 per month.

After 1 year we decide to let her go but until now, she still contact my family. I heard she will come to visit us soon.

Right now it really hard for me to do it again as my relative pass away last month. I not sure whether his wife still hire his ‘cun’ maid.

I am also waiting for a new maid. Cambodian this time. My 3rd maid already but no choice coz second BB due in 4 weeks. Sometimes really wish I had the option of not working.. but times are bad…Taking more than 2 months and its now RM590 per month. They are quite ok and running away chances are lesser but VERY VERY stubborn. So, juz gotta “tahan” a bit larr. My first cambo maid lasted for 9 months and i sent her home coz she is always lying and get too lazy. 2nd maid I kena “conned” from HAZ (opposite Carrefour, Subang Jaya) That maid got mental problems and after 4 months they taught her to run away and make me waste about RM6000. So, I am extra careful nowadays. I actually had to sue them in Consumer Tribunal and when I went there, found out that there were so many other cases agaist them. So what ?? they are still in business… thats our life I guess… always at the mercy or teruk agencies who only care about their own pocket. Dont care if they maid can work or not. Many of my friends and even neighbour “kena” from HAZ already. Just a warning for all mums and parents out there. !!

mummybugz, because the money is out of your pocket goes to their pocket and ‘others’ pocket.

MelLin, Filipinos only cost RM700? I think the price is ok, as the cost for Indon now is RM600. Can you send me the contact for your sis’s company. I would like to find out more.

Thanks in advance.

I also have experienced with maid agencies … melayang a few thounsand few times. After than, I get maid from person that dealing with Indon agency … but have to apply permit by myself. Not too bad, only 2 times went to imigration. Only pay RM2400 and can deduct 3 months maid’s salary. Monthly salary is RM400. Ok what to take care of 4 kids.

November 20th, 2008 | 3:57 pm

Liana, you have make a good choice. Save money and time. Actually time taken to go immigration is nothing actually cos you still need to go to agency. No different. That not included time taken to go to agency and complaint if maid run away.

Got what I mean…

November 20th, 2008 | 4:16 pm
Loosing Maid:

LIana, how do I go about doing that ah? Can U show me? Or give me contact…I only have 3months to find one b4 mine go back…

REading this forum really scared me, but i do hope i did the correct & godo planning…

My fren told me her maid preggie after she came back from indo too. So knowing my maid going back next mth, i bring her for the DEPO CONTRACEPTIVE INJECTION last week, only cost me RM65 all togther.. and it will alst for 3 mths… She will came back 2 weeks before the expiry date of the injection..

Hope all this planning is in order.. and no other issue came out besides this preggie issue…

really very ma fan, when u know they are nice person too ( i mean my maid is really good and helpful) but at the same time, u can control urself to think that they themselves are lack of planning for their own life and sometimes dunno what they themselves doing.. very headache to hire maid.

hi… she wanted to keep the baby ? u mean she interested to keep the baby ??? sorry asking like this.. becoz it’s a option too if she dun want the baby herself since she’s in a family mess issue….

may be should let her go back indo and think about it ? or let her go back settle her problem.. and she MIGHT COME BACK after she settle her problem ?

November 27th, 2008 | 2:17 pm

To settle the problem probably take 1 year so this option will make you looking for new maid also.

My replacement maid went crazy on her 7th day working in my home. She started singing, banging her head, biting and strangling herself, etc so I immediately send her back to agency. Agency insists I take her back but it is too risky/dangerous. Doubt I can get a full refund. First maid was sickly. Can I have the contact of your maid agency mentioned in this forum. I would have to like to apply for a new maid. Thanks.

Liana, can I have also your contact or how can I communicate with U? thanks

December 8th, 2008 | 12:07 am

I have had 5 maids, each one lasted 2 years after completing their contracts. Once they go back, even if for just a short holiday, I won’t take them back, as advised by my agent whom I trust. So far, so good. All my maids were helpful and trustworthy. I believe if we treat them well, they in turn will treat us well though for the first month, I would actually not be too nice to them, lest they take us for granted. The first day at work, sit them down and discuss expectations (from both sides), that really helps ^_^ No complaints so far, even my mum who is very skeptical of maids. My agency : Princeton at KL Plaza, ask for Christina. Good luck …

Reading all your stories is like dejavu for me. I too used to have all these problems. Problems solved after terminating maids. Now I am back at work again after a 10year lapse and without a maid. I am happier.

Dear All,

After reading all your comments, I think I’m blessed to have such a good maid. My 1st maid worked with me for 7 and half years and she went back coz she want to get married. The current one has been 4 months, she also good and I think as time goes by, she will be as good as the former maid. For me the concept is like this..we have to treat our maid as human being..like us too. Give them some rest when they need one and don’t be too stingy to reward them with gift as a token of appreciation because they treat and take care of our children dilligenty.
